One thing about all those tech demos was that the only thing that appeared to be interactive was the camera, and that was only in a few of them. None of them really give any idea of what games on the console will look like when they're rendering entire areas in realtime with a player interacting with it.
The reason for one in and 2 out gbit lan ports is that the PS3 can be used as a router. I'd guess 2 ports didn't cost much more, and was more useful in terms of not having to buy a seperate hub, as I'd guess most people with have PS3 + 2 computers connected to their DSL. On an opinionated matter, I won't be buying one for a while. I'll probably buy a revolution 1st, then 360, then if there are any very appealing games on the ps3 then that. And yes, the controller does look like a steaming pile of shite.
Not sure about that, but it can route without one - just wouldn't be that worthwhile, as a DSL modem would still be needed...
That's what I was thinking. I'd assume it can connect to a wi-fi network, as well as PSP. That's the method I'd be using.
HAvent heard anything about wifi.... and if they start fucking around with psp games making them need any kind of access to a PS3 to get anything extra then im tossing the psp in the thames....
Oh, reason for only 7 controllers is that in a bluetooth network with one master (PS3), max number of devices is 8. therefore, PS3+7 controllers - This is a bluetooth piconet
who designs these things...not only is it ugly, but its a waste of space. the least sony could have done, was to give it a flat surface so you could stack stuff on top of it. that controler will not be entering my house.
Oh yeah. I forgot about that. You can jam RJ-11 into RJ-45 though. I do it all the time when I'm reaching around the back of my laptop. Or course, it doesn't actually DO anything.
All three next gen will have variable colours... personally I hate plastic sprayed with silver so I'd not go for anything like that. If it was solid metal I'd be far more tempted.
I know it's not the point but they should have some nice rechargables that would work. Anyhow I'll be looking for a ps2 and sticking with a REV, :-D
