PS4 is just a shitty PC, why not join us, the PC gaming master race?

I don't view windows to be a difficult OS to get to grips with at all for anyone. I generally play most of my games with a 360 pad or Dualshock pad from the sofa on my TV, games like Counter Strike I play in my desk chair with a keyboard and mouse, best of both worlds and half my games have mods installed that is ether difficult or impossible to install on their console counterparts.

 

360 first party is lacking, and outside of shmups what does the 360 have? A few OK RPGs, a few unique games that Microsoft never followed up on and several downloadable games.

Remember I'm a 360 owner and I'll stick with the 360 til the bitter end but Microsoft is making it REALLY hard to like them these days.

 

Microsoft made a lot more than Sony. Although with the NVidia problems in laptops, I'm surprised the PS3 hasn't suffered the same problem.

 

to be fair, MS did back that up with 3 year warranty though. Sony didnt.

So I am sure MS took more of a hit on repairs than Sony - which likely evens things up more.

 

As some of you already know I stick with retro gaming. Excluding my 3DS my newest console is an original Xbox. I like to stick with consoles that have reached an age of 10 years since release. That's my own rule for retro gaming. Fuck newer generation bullshit.

THE PS4 if it's anything like the first 3 and it will be. It's going to need a few years to mature before it's worth looking at. Now that used games are back in play I'm interested again but only after I get a 3DS and Wii U

 

not bothered about the ps4 at all, PC gaming is where its at for me. unless SEGA release something which would be interesting but wont happen. steambox = meh

 

It's like i've been saying over and over again. This next gen won't surprise anyone. I'm not saying it won't have amazing games, but the overall game quality leap won't be as big as before.

The games will be the same as the current gen, but now running on 1080p, targetting 60fps (i doubt that most will be able to) and modern GPU stuff like PhysX, Tesselation and so on. Anyone expecting 4K, SSD's or anything mindblowing will be disappointed. Multiplatform games will always be better on PC. Consoles these days are worth only because of exclusive titles.

Still, nothing they showed so far, from any company, made me think i need a new console. That doesn't bother me thoug, i always wait a long time before spending money on a new console. I only got a PS2 in 2002. The PS3 in early 2010 i think.

What makes me very scared is the the whole always connected / data mining stuff.

PC here, people need to see that console will never have more power than a pc.

I thought the PS3 in general was a terrible platform, Predictable exclusives in the same old genres mixed with that hideous update/download/install crippling file system. I ended up buying 3 games in total throughout those 6-7 years.

I'm sick of Sony's empty promises and I've seen nothing in that conference that makes me think they've changed their approach. Whats the point of creating a powerhouse system with 8 gigs of fast ram when the best your own inhouse dev teams can come up with is a tragic half assed tech demo like Knack?

The sad thing is people will lap it up regardless because Sony's marketing makes so much noise.

 

Why not join the glorious PC master race and ditch your NES for an Apple][? We have floppy disks and tape drives! Plus you can get on the internet.

Oh wait it's about the games not the hardware. My bad (arguably the Apple][ had good games and plenty of them).

One thing that pisses me off the most is my computer trying to second guess what I want, if I want something I'll select it! A bit like microsoft telling me I want that metro block shite in windows 8, no thanks you can stick that idea back up your arse.

PS4 : 1.84 TFLOPS - $ ???
Radeon 7970: 3.5 TFLOPS - $400

This from a 1 year old GPU. By the time the PS4 is launched, that GPU card will be already 2 years old. Like i said, consoles can't compete with PC's anymore.

not just the us, some of us still europeans have *****y internet connections too.

i'll be upgrading my pc before i get a new gen console, although i was having a look in a game store today and they have 40gb and 60gb PS3's listed as "Comming soon" in the pre owned section for £80, might get one

 

Because a 1TB drive is sooooooo expensive in this day and age.
