I remember that whole Haunted Fiasco so I'm questioning if it is really legit.

 

If it is there is no fucking way he did anywhere near 100% of the work himself.

 

He hasn't said he has :/

 

His ego will force him to claim the majority of the credit.

 

Can somebody please explain this to me? I'm a n00b.

 

Its a long story more about an egoist and lies than about hardware.

 

I never thought anything would come of this project ever, so I am mildly impressed either way.

To be fair, are you really going to personally attack him over something that happened last year? He's working in a team now, and he's not taking all the credit recently. Leave the grudges out of this.
It's a bit early to breath down his neck about every move about this, I'm sure many can make their own judgements when it's closer and out of prototype stages. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinions about the product.

It does look pretty good though, I was amazed the project went through and is in prototype stage.

 

been looking forward to this product hoping it would turn out to be legit. i've had an old fat model ps1 with a dodgy laser lying around for years, didn't get around to replacing the worn out laser because i have a PSone aswell. playing games from sd storage on the fatty is gonna rock

 

You mean since he made an ass out of himself here and then vanished? What else is anyone going to judge him on if thats how it finished up?

However, id imagine he has learnt his lesson the hard way. So maybe this will work out well in the end.

 

I don't know man, I just think that if skeltons keep being dragged out the closet nothing will change. I don't think he actually vanished he got banned apparently, I do know he did stupid things but I think he learned his lesson, and like you said the hard way.

cybdyn is the main brains on this project, regardless seems to be working and needs work speeding the FMV up. Whenever it's widely available I'm buying it. Despite the snarks here, they probably will too.

 

I loved the concept, but thought he was just a dreamer when it was originally discussed.

Looks like I've been proven wrong. Would certainly buy one if it runs fullspeed with wide game support.

 

Sure what you see is likely legit, but it still doesn't address any of the compatibility concerns brought up in the very first Haunted thread. It seems that a "plug and play" device just can't be full-featured. This proof of (a single) concept is just the very tip of the iceberg.

 

Wouldn't call it a grudge, all I have against him is that he is too inexperienced to even realize how inexperienced he is. Which would be fine if he didn't get angry every chance he got when reality reared its ugly head. Given a year ago it was pretty clear that a year before that he was still the same person (and assuming a linear progression) he likely has had a bit of his edge taken off but I sincerely doubt he isn't the same basic Haunted he was earlier.

I'd love to be wrong.

This is part of the reason why I don't think much has changed. While cybdyn may be the brains of the outfit the same "stick to whatever idea I have no matter what presents itself to be an issue" thought process was classic of Haunted. Until he found a way to fix his cognitive dissonance every idea running counter to his was a bad one.

 

i will buy one when it can achieve 2x cd-rom speed. a compatibility around %80-90 would be perfectly fine with me. i have too many psx consoles lying around for the rest of the games.

 

Well, one of two things will happen for me. Either I'll be enjoying the product when it's available, or I won't. I have no skin in the game either way. I don't get the ongoing one-sided "fued" with "Haunted." To be honest, I was more awaiting the Dreamcast application of cybdyn's design. Though I believe the other fellow working on GD-ROM emulation has gotten further along.
