PSN OUTAGE THREAD > Seems someone wiped the psn backups

Well...I already have Wipeout HD and Littlebigplanet is completely pointless since I have the second game, so I guess it's Ratchet & Clank and Infamous...I was thinking of getting Infamous anyway, so this is kinda nice in that way.

 

Well, seeing as I only own LittleBigPlanet out of all of these - I approve of the selection they've offered. OK, so they're not brand spanking new titles, but I'm honestly dumbfounded that anybody can complain about the selection available. The selection is broad enough that everyone can find 2 games they may play.

Personally, I'm thinking inFAMOUS and either Wipeout or Rachet & Clank.

 

I can comment on 3 of those games:

Wipeout HD Fury - Brilliant.
Ratchet & Clank Quest for Booty - It's cool, but it's short. Finished in 4 hours or so. No trophies (for those that care about this)
InFamous - Great game, and the sequel is to be released in June.

I already decided on Dead Nation, but i'm in doubt between LittleBigPlanet or SuperStardust HD? Any suggestions?

 

LBP is the better choice to my mind.

 

Personally the selection is alright. Obviously the games offered will be first party, anybody thinking other wise was kidding them self. At least they are offering a few full retail games and not just $5 PSN titles. The only thing I wish they maybe added to the list is War Hawk, A game that depends on PSN and would really require people to get back into PSN.

On the PS3 side i'll probably end up with inFAMOUS & Wipeout HD + Fury. LBP I already own on disc. PSP side i'll probably get ModNation Racers (though the demo was crap but I own the others) & Pursuit Force (never played but played and loved the second one).

I'm very currious what japan & HK will get, I have accounts on 4 regions (USA/EUR/JP/HK), 3 of witch I have purchased games (USA/JP/HK). =P

 

I just read about the free games dealy, and then I tried to go to the PSN store, and it says, "The service you're trying to access is undergoing maintenance." Nice work, Sony.

Also, every time I see the title, I think it says, "PSN OUTRAGE THREAD." I guess it's the caps that do it.

 

Never played LBP to be honest, but i did play Super Stardust HD. It's older, so it's cheaper and maybe i can get it for 5 bucks on a future PSN sale. LBP has higher value, plus i read that there's a lot of user levels available for download.

So yes, i'm guessing Dead Nation and LBP will be my choices. Any ideas of the file size for LBP?

 

I think LBP is way overrated. I bought it and I got bored of playing it after a couple days.

I disagree that LBP is totally overrated. Possibly not a 10/10 game, but definitely an 8/10 at least. I think that it is mis-sold as 'ideal for everyone'. It's not, for example, a good choice for those who prefer movie-replacements & immersive storyline.

Also, quite ironically, it's not really an ideal choice for people younger than 16 as it focuses quite heavily on the idea of 'do you remember the lazy warm summers of your youth'-kind of vibe, something you youngsters would probably not appreciate, seeing as you're LIVING the lazy warm summers.

If you enjoy platformers, puzzles and treasure-hunts then I would say go for it.

 

The welcome back pack sucks donkey dick for people like me who already own all the games and have a PSN Plus sub. All I get for my ID/Credit Card info being stolen is 30 extra days PSN Plus...

 

I can't even get on the PSN Store, and there's no "welcome back" thingie anywhere either.

 

Ugh guys, the welcome back program has not started yet since psn store is not back up. When the store returns you have 30 days to redeam for your free stuff. Not sure why some of you guys are bitching because you're being stupid.

Actually you get 60 days now.

 

Well they assume you must love them unconditionally if you bought ALL those games at full price

 

It's a good game, but it's not platform-defining like a lot of people seemed to think it would be. The grievances that were raised in reviews, namely floaty physics and controls, are legitimate, but they weren't a deal-breaker for me (I ended up completing it).

 

I still haven't opened my copy of LBP. I've had it for at least a year... though I blame that on waiting for an HD television and a friend to play with.

Looks like Infamous and R&C or Wipeout for myself, though I don't see much of a reason to get Wipeout because, as previously mentioned, I just have a standard def TV and I can always play my two PSP titles or old PS1 games if I get the urge for that.

 

Well, I didn't know it wasn't supposed to be back up. From all the stuff posted in this thread, you could easily infer it was supposed to be. And I wasn't bitching either, it was more like a "Hey, is this down for anyone else?" kind of post.

 

I actually wasn't really directly refering to you. more la-li-lu-le-lo (sorry for not noting that the first time) =)

Regardless, in the future it's best to check the Sony blog of your territory first while you're on the PC/Inet device. Much faster that way.

Seriously, get Wipeout. It's fucking amazing, much better than previous entries in the series IMO.
