Wow impressed. I have tried pulling off soldering to those contacts in the upper right hand corner of the above picture... Could never get the solder to stay put once cooled down (and if it did it was on two contacts). One of these days I am going to have to take some kind of course in soldering. Dreamcast, Gamecube, PS1 I have all pulled off... but a PSTwo was out of my league.

How long does it typically take for Jinn to install and mail a PS2 back? I am wondering as I sent my PS2 to him to be modded and have not heard anything as he's been offline. It's been a good week now since he's gotten my slim PS2.

I have no doubt. I did my reading up on him before I went through with it. I suspect I'll have my system by the end of the week, but am not worried. I have a modded PS1 and PS2 to keep me occupied.

Remember, its christmas. There are more important things to be doing than modding consoles.

Also, mail is terrible over the holiday period.

Sorry, I've just been a bit anxious. It's been 8 days with no word from him. I've sent a couple PM's but nothing. I'm not worried or anything, just very anxious.

    EDIT: All sorted out!

Can anyone here that knows jinn please give him a shout and ask him to check his email? I sent him several consoles in December that have yet to be returned and he hasn't answered any emails in over two weeks.

those ps2 installs are pretty bad ones. You should take care about how long the wires that go to the bios are instead of the cosmetic status of those.

No one is going to open the console if the machine works, you should make the wires shorter instead of do loops and curves with those.

Serantes, thank you for your feedback. I will keep that in mind next time.
If you could post a picture of your work showing the short wire install so I can have a visual idea of proper short wire install. This way I can meet your high standards next time I mod a PS2.

Just out of interest why do you use different gauge wires for the PS2 chip install? Genuine question as I know nothing about installing modchips but would like to learn one day.

And is the top pic a PSOne? Looks very clean, I saw a video on youtube the other day where the guy was dabbing hot glue everywhere.

    Thicker wires are for power.
