For all Slims we use Chips with the The Matrix Infinity 1.93 Firmware.

Clones, most are Modbo 750 but I also use Modbo 4.0, Modbo 745 and Matrix Infinity 1.93 White PCB when I'm unable to get the Modbo 750

Looks really cool. I'm sorry for sounding like a noob but what are the benefits of installing one of these chips on my Old Fat PS2?

A quality chip lets imports and backups, PS1 included, run right from the tray like domestic games. Less need to patch or disc swap.

That sounds very nice. So its like a modchip/regionunlocker? I've had modchips before and I've found that they always deteriorate
the laser lens much quicker over time. Are these chips any different? If so, I may be interested.

Modchips do not deteriorate lasers faster. There is a known issue with v9 to v12 ps2 consoles bit generally that's misinformation.

Using crap discs causes lasers to deteriorate not the chips

Oh ok, that's really good to know thank you. I'll check my PS2 for its version. What PS2 model would you say is the best for this chip?

For the Phat I really like the 39K and for slim any model from 75k and up is fine.

It doesn't have to be the 39k but I really feel this is one of the best models for the Phat. The model number is on the sticker and starts with SCPH-.

    This is for a 70012

    Modbo 750
Diode laser fix (located by reset and ground wire)
Laser Shut-Off chip (wires with resistor)

    Solid works as always :D

Holy crap, those install jobs are works of art! I'd want those boards exposed in a clear case if that was me. :)
