I was confused with the remodel of Taito Amusement/Station, changing the Taito logo rooftop sign into the pink invader sign.

Hey is orange, across the street by Club Sega. I'm getting senile...

I actually I don't think that's Taito Station, but it's owned by Taito.

    The one and only!

Back on topic: Can users add spots, or do we have to go through you, Jamtex? Sorry for not taking 30 seconds to figure it out.

Jam has to authorise people as collabourators based on their Google accounts.

    I guess... we PM Jamtex?

    What do you think?

I could make it free and open, but it's open to people going in a write cock or something stupid, else collabourators would work too. :)

Feel free to collaborate me (although this sounds like we're forming a band of resistance fighters). Name should be easy enough to figure out (all lower case).

It's called Taito Station, at least since the 100% pink remodel (in '08?).

I'll put up a few spots in Shibuya which go relatively unmissed.

amazingly, i've not spent much time in Shibuya in the last few years and it's all a bit of a mystery games-store wise.

Shinjuku even more so, though i've started going home via Shinjuku for quick arcading/shopping.

At another forum (racketboy.com) that I frequent, another member posted a boatload of pictures of a game shop that he frequents. You might find the thread of interest to you.

The shop has a lot of retro stuff at good prices because apparently it's out in the countryside. I believe it's in the Iwate prefecture.

Yeah, that's generally too far for me. Looks like a nice shop.

I've added Shibuya Kaikan, Shibuya Mandarake, and High Tech Land Sega (Shibuya) to the map.

Shibuya has gone down hill in the retro games department. Tsutaya has some used games, but if you want anything pre-PS2, you're SOL. They've got about 20 or so Saturn games and a 100 or so PS1 games last I checked. It's all about the new stuff. They do have new games as well, but no "deals" per se. Not really good for shopping.

There was a really small games stand (everything was outside) in one of the corners of the bowels of dougenzaka a while ago. It was next to a porn magazine stand and not oddly, under a blow job shop. They had some good deals from time to time, but gave up the games trade years ago. There used to be a Dorama which is also long gone, and ditched all of their retro games before leaving the area anyway. A Book Off has recently been addded which is worth going into. No primo titles, but they've got tons of old crap lying around.

yeah, that place used to have a lot of good items, now it's -just- pron - though they do sell Famitsu a couple of days earlier than everywhere else.

There was a place that opened up near Mandarake a while back that was pretty decent, especially for well priced PS2 stuff. Unfortunately it vanished as quickly as it appeared. AH it was a Dorama? i see.

Actually, the Kichijouji Dorama had a fire sale this weekend, looks like they are dumping all their pre-ps1 stuff too. Got a couple of cheapo bits (good condition FC Fantasy Zone for a few hundred yen :) )

Book off Shibuya seems to have recently shed all it's pre-ps1 stuff too - their initial retro corner had some nice bits and bobs in there, Mandarake Shibuya has also rapidly downsized too . :/

No back issues of Arcadia or Gamest, which they had before. I think their downsizing was done a while ago. They've moved stuff around, but kept it the same (small) size for at least a year now.

Best thread ever. For someone about to visit Japan anyways. There should be an Assembler Gamer Guide for visitors to Japan with this included.
