Ok so I've got my M82 out in preparation for the chip to be dumped.

I see the TIBPAL 16L8-15CN located at IC53

The picture is taken from the power supply side of the unit looking towards the other side of the unit (not the back or front).

The chip appears to be socketed

I sent you a PM with the address. I can't wait to get it back and post that it works. :) I am severely in your debt.

Just got the chips back! Thank you so much. I will have time to mess with it this weekend and I will report my findings. Crossing my fingers, and hoping it can't possibly be anything else.

Thank you again so much and I will update as soon as I can (hopefully) fire this thing up!

It seems as though I can't get anything but a grey screen. I've been trying for days now with the new chip. :(

The only thing I can think of is maybe since you guys are in a different region that you dumped a different version of the code onto my chip? Meaning, if your M82 is a PAL variant, mine is being programmed as such?

I honestly have no idea and am at a loss for what it could be...

Does what I suggest make sense? That maybe the chip is coded for PAL territory? I have no idea if the chip has anything to do with that stuff.

I don't remember but did I mail you guys my original chip?

Not that, more like the board is possibly different. You still have the original PAL ?

If you have the original pal and its just got damaged legs, send me it and I will dremel it, solder it up and dump, then reprogram to a new chip

I am in the US so it is NTSC. Is that why this would not work?

The chip isnt anything to do with video mode.

But if there are variations between pal boards and ntsc boards, then the chip could be acting wrong on yours.

Damn, I can't believe this rare piece of history is screwed :(

What type of programmer did you guys buy for it? Maybe I can somehow salvage some of my corroded TI chip and dump it, and write it to a new blank?

I strongly urge you to send it to Bad_Ad84, if anyone has a chance of recovering the data stored on the PAL it's him.

    BTW, PAL=Programmable Array Logic.

Oh man, I totally read this wrong and thought you were thinking my M82 was PAL, not NTSC.

That would be incredible. Perhaps I can repay you with some sort of mod service? I have a model 1 NTSC US SNES that I can mod for SPDIF that I will send to you, free of charge out of appreciation. Or something else you may need, just let me know!

    You have a US/NTSC M82 and also own a programmer/dumper?
