whoa, that game is hard!!! and i hate having a partner... "help me help me blah blah" but nevertheless, i was killed very often. very hard and stressing game
Not just us if you google it you will see. Im on 1080p via VGA. On a 1080p set. No tearing in any other games.
Wow, thats really wierd. I have noticed tearing in a few other 360 games but for some reason I don't get any in the demo. That sucks though.
I've read around and it's mostly people on high-res VGA/1080p connections who are having problems - I'm going to plug my VGA cable and test in a bit. Any chance someone running 1080p and seeing tearing could drop to 720p just to check? EDIT: yeah, through VGA in 848x480 (the highest my CRT will do) there's noticeable tearing all over the place. It's most obvious in the cutscenes.
I would Alchy, but the bastards over at Capcom haven't released the Demo USA/Euro-side yet, and I can't really be arsed to make a japanese account for the sole purpose of testing the given demo, although I m waiting for it for quite a while now. I m too old for bending rules, unless there's a six figure sum involved.

From me, but originally thanks to some other random forum poster outside ASSEMblergames. This is just way too convenient to begin with. Download, burn, play. It's a demo, so no harm is done either.
I'm running in 720p and I get tearing as well... it seems to be a capcom thing I get a lot of tearing in Dead Rising... I always thought it was an ATI relating thing as my 3870 does the same thing on many games... Played the demo again got through the first level, damn that was a bit challenging, I'm starting to like it, just needed to get used to the controls again. Onto Level 2 got killed by chainsaw guy, bouh...gotta try again tomorrow.
So is the tearing just VGA or something? What about component or HDMI 1080? I guess component doesn't go 1080 or something, dunno. I played Dead Rising a ton through VGA 1360x768 or whatever and never got tearing. I'll check on my friends systems tonight. They use VGA 1440x900 and VGA 1024x768 when we LAN.
That chainsaw motherfucker will have you unless you're really sharp, no question. Headshots with the rifle will take him down pretty quickly, and if you've got grenades, use them. The first level is just a case of running around on the rooftops and picking enemies off until the support arrives. Setting the girl to Attack mode seems to lessen both bosses' interest in you, if that helps. As far as tearing goes, it reminds me of turning off the frame limiter or whatever it was on Bioshock. They need to screw that down before release, it's really not acceptable. Doesn't show up via RGB, for some reason.
I love the chainsaw deaths in this and RE4, hopefully they show it a little better in the final...I just figured it was zoomed out because it's the japanese one. 4 was censored in that area if I remember. Also...isn't it Biohazard there?
As far as the chainsaw goes, yes it was censored like that in the Biohazard 4 jap version. Im hooked up through component cables and ive tried 480p, 720p and 1080i ( sorry, my tv doesnt support 1080p), and on all three of those settings i have not seen any screen tearing. Im really thinking it has to do with the VGA cable. I wish i had a HDMI-equipped 360 so i can see if it occurs running through HDMI.
demo downloaded. How do I burn? what layout etc? please also tell me the sequence of the folders and subfolders. do I place the file in root? or do I just drop folder "Content" in the CD's root? also, can I use a USB stick instead of a CD? I summon Alchy!
bad news comrades. I get tons of tearing and a popping blue horizontal line above the letterbox, within the lowest part of the top black border. I run over VGA at 1680x1050. It's very distracting to say the least
I cannot confirm this as I have no other means to currently connect my console to a monitor of any kind, including TV. As far as I m concerned though the graphics suffer.
