Well, I was not that much lucky this night. I managed to get 6 hours of sleep, before my cat went apeshit and woke me up at 1 A.M.
I know you got a kid, but seriously my cat is sometimes like a dog in her behaviour. But I can always talk about that some other time.

Anyway here goes the review, I really liked the show. And the point and click adventure made me think, since I know you have a lot of original Japanese language written games. But since you have the original game, why not begin reviewing the fan translated console games ? If they are good of course, then you can use the translations of the games when you are reviewing your games.

    http://www.romhacking.net/

Is one of the best places to get translations from, even when it comes to CD based consoles and so forth.

    Dreamcast - Dream Para Para

heck that got me thinking too..
Since you mentioned that the controller that came the package was reversed. So why not turn the pad 180 degrees, then the problem would be solved I think.

Super Famicom - Robocop 3 (Shite of the month)

Hmmm I seem to remember that Robocop 3 on the Amiga was a sad case of ugly graphics in a very slow "3d world" filled with very ugly graphics. So the Amiga owners were screwed too when it came to a number 3 of the series. A little positive note, is that it had just a little better story, which was the same as the movie .

So it was a good show.

Hey, what about making a RTC special with rom hack translations ? where you use the translated games, you already have in the original Japanese version, but they are more or less translated to English ? That would be smashing, since maybe you could do a rereview of some of your old games you already have done where the games were in Japanese, but since some of them are probably translated then review them again ? I know it is hard work, but with the help of us members here, then we can scour the web (or that site I gave a link to) for information about the games you have had on RTC (first volume) and then you could take the best of best of old Japanese console games that you originally have, and then you could rereview the games in English ?

Anyway it was just a thought.

    Long live RTC :)

The thing with dream para para is that they are actually doing it the right way round in the videos, the moves correspond with the fact that your doing it from the same way as they are facing.

On the para training vids & on the ps2 version there was a mode to flip the video round so it was backwards but it meant that the moves would mirror yours so you could learn it easy. Obviously the knock off dc version didnt have that feature.

Thanks for the idea but I really can't see any point other than me saying if the translation is faithful or not. Plus I don't really have the time to cover RPG / Adventure games that much because they take up so much time to get in to them. I'll just stick with the Japanese versions that I know and if someone likes it they can check out the net for a fan translated copy themselves  lazy on my part? maybe but more time restraints I think.

It's not the controller that's reversed but the actual commands on the screen. Reversing the controller wouldn’t help. Below Importaku mentioned that the PS2 version has a flip screen mode to help learn the moves better. sadly the Chinese pirates didn't add this feature to the Dreamcast version. Still, what they did manage is still a very good effort.

Hmmm it looks like youtube is becoming bitches, Dentolux has just either been banned or chosen to close his account. And heck he was one of my favourite game reviewers just like you are one of them. But at least I know that Dentolux is on revver just playitbogart and a newly found cool game reviewer. Who calls himself Thee3nd.

Akihabara special should still be avaliable for download on archive.org. It's in Mpeg4 format. Pretty much all the original Retro-Core episodes are still hosted there, cept for a few that come up with errors when attempting to save.

Hope Yakumo doesn't mind me posting this. I wouldn't want to detract any attention from his wonderful site.

Fans of Retro Core who missed out on the old series and the very poor early shows may be interested that I've added download links to EVERY show of the old series apart from the Tokyo Game Show 2005 (Vol:13) episode because that was removed from archive.org thanks to, yep F*ing Sony. They weren't too happy about my undercover camera work at the Metal Gear 4 room. Real time tech demos as well as other cool stuff. You'd think it would be Konami t hat was pissed but oh no. Anyway, I still have the original DVd I made so I'll just upload that again somewhere else.

Thinking of RTC, has made me think as usual . And it is about Retroware, and well it does suck. But then again, I have explained both in curses. And non cursing language why I am not fond of the show. But at the same time I must admit something, I do watch their shows. The real annoyance of retroware is Itos voice, not John D´s. If Ito has any kind of speech handicap, then he is excused. Or else he sounds like a boy whos voice hasn't matured into a deep voice. He is still in between , but why am I commenting RTW and not RTC here ? well it is because I see this forum as a safehaven for my rants. And RTW are professional , but when they sometimes do a feature on Games, they forget the Amiga and PC, which is irritating. I remember they skipped the two formats in their Mortal Kombat feature which made me more than annoyed.

Yakumo-sama on the other does his groundwork bigtime thoroughly , and even though he doesn't have an Amiga, then he acknowledges its existence . That is why I prefer RTC over RTW any day of the week. But if Retroware did some better groundwork, they would rise in my respect, but their lack of knowledge in their groundwork makes me agitated so say it at least. And then they use double standards (their old Snatcher review as an example) in some of their reviews, and censors their words. Which is again quite stereotypical . And quite a few places in Europe there we have a lower age of consent. And also, at least around here we do NOT (yet) censor words, that goes through the air. But we have other ways of doing things, such as you can be told to speak a more nice language. But it is NOT a law about it. So if they took their fingers out of their arses and did their homework/groundwork better , then they would get more respect from me.

Anyway sorry for ranting a bit :) And back to Yakumo-sama .

Back to me indeed with news on the new Retro Core! It will be released on July 10th and feature an exclusive look at the new Dreamcast puzzle game, Wind and Water Puzzle Battles by Yuan Works. Now I know that "homebrew" games are pretty much cack on consoles but this is something else. It feels like an official quality product!

As for censorship on Retro Core, well Political Correctness can kiss my arse for all I care. You want bad language? You got it. You want nudity? You got it. You want bloody and guts? You got it! Of course it's all within taste. Retro Core will never feature real life shit such as the Russian guard getting his head cut off or bad language just for the sake of it.

I have just seen the show, and it was a fine show. But games like dance dance revolution (and others in that genre) makes me want to throw up.
I don´t know why, but it just does. But dancing to a party does not. So I do like to dance, but games in that genre (here I am also talking about Parrappa the crapper). Makes me want to hurl.

Hmmm I know why you got pissed over Thomas The Tankengine, after all Ringo Star is from Liverpool, or at least The Beatles are , and perhaps it was a license problem, so they chose an electronic male voice instead of using Ringo Stars voice. Oh an by the way I found some wiki article about Scouse, and it supriced me since the dish known as lobscouse is also known in Norwegian and Danish with different spellings, but probably the same pronounciation.

    Scouse

So scouse comes from the word lobscouse. Strange I must say mate.

 Man, I had forgotten all about that car  That Akihabara video is way out of date now since it was taken in 2005 (I think) so a new update is in order but when?

Yep, scouse is a very odd rendition of English. I'd go as far as saying it's more obscure than the dialects in Japan. Put it this way, if I spoke in scouse probably only native British would understand.
