Thanks guys. Getting video inside Mandrake was a risk but it paid off. Nobody suspected a thing as I had the phone screen off while videoing and also had it face down on a copy of El Viento for the Mega Drive which I was buying.

 

I can't remember. But why do they frown on it so much? Is it fear of showing that to competitor's or something?

 

Just got around to watching volume 8. Great stuff as always. Nice work on the undercover video - you should consider a job in espionage.

 

I really have no idea. Just some Japanese thing that one store probably did at one point so they all decided to do it. Mandrake are the worst to video in though. I remember trying to take a photo of some Gold SFC cart for someone and got told to delete the picture by the staff.

Great stuff. Always found the Sonic Wings/Aero Fighters games a little boring and generic myself.

 

That's because it is. Most shooters by Psikyo are like that. I hate the way all of their shooters almost use the same power up icons.

Guys, please spread the word about Retro Core. Link to it whenever you can I see really and I mean really crappy shows with thousands of hits . Makes me sad I know it's not the greatest show on YouTube but it's a lot better than some of the crap that gets way more views.

 

I have a Destructoid blog that gets a few views. But I also have my own shiz to promote.

 

@Yakumo I Definitely agree!! Great little show that deserves more attention :-D every episode you make are very informative & knowledgeable like the Japan only games as you go into detail half the times, even Store or Arcade visits you make are interesting to look & watch when people would like to goto Japan one day & spot a few someday As for the YouTube problem bizz I guess it's the viewers that perfer crappy wannabe sitcoms or stupid let's play commentators. Don't Worry man it'll become a hit someday just keep doing what your doing and i'll happen! P.S I'm a Fan of your Show!

Another top quality epidose Yakumo, so much better than a lot of the other cack around. I will be sure to spread the word. Those stores make me drool especially the high end Mega Drive games, well until you convert the prices from Yen to ££ frightening!!!!!! Do they ever show up at decent prices?

 

If you are very lucky and I mean very lucky you can find big Mega Drive game sets with 50 or so games that contain some rare titles. Most of the time the seller will point out the rare games in the set in order to bump up the price but every now and then they don't bother listing what is in the set so you have to examine the small pictures to see what is there. I've got a few rare games this way but that also means you end up with 40 odd games you don't want. Not too much of a problem at the moment since Mega Drive games are selling for good prices at the moment.

Finding rare games at good prices is not really possible since the sellers normally know the running cost. Actually, compared to Yahoo Auctions, Mandrake's prices aren't that bad. Still more than I'd like to pay.
