Wooo, sounds awesome! Will you be tackling the BotP around the same time too?

BTW, are you still running a listing on Patreon?

Edit: Google tells me you are!

If you'd like to do some Italian subs I can add them to the upload as YouTube supports subtitle scripts I think. I'll double check tomorrow when I upload the next Battle of the Ports.

Yep, I'll be doing Battle of the ports too. And yes, I'm on Patreon :)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

It has taken almost 2 months to get the show done but it's finally here. In volume 3 of Retro Core 5 we take a look at 18 titles from the PlayStation 2's Sega Ages series. While there are actually 33 titles in the series I only own 18 of them which are all featured in this video.

    Titles included are:
Monaco GP - Fantasy Zone - Space Harrier - Golden Axe - Tanto R & Bonanza Brothers - Virtua Racing - After Burner II - Hokuto No Ken - Out Run - Alien Syndrom - Virtua Fighter 2 - Fighting Vipers - SDI & Quartet - Last Bronx - Dynamite Deka (Die Hard Arcade) - Panzer Dragoon - Galaxy Force II and finally Fantasy Zone Complete Collection.

    Enjoy!

    Hey Yakumo!
This might not be the right thread but here goes:
I recently dumped a dreamcast trial disc witch contained a .sfd file. I converted it to .mpg by using sfd2mpg program.
The aspect ratio of the clip isn't right, I mean, it's kind of narrow and I want to adjust it to 4:3 without re-encoding the file (don't want to lose video quality).
I know you're experienced with this kind of stuff so I though you could give me some hints?
Another advice I wanted to ask... do you think I should watermark the video before uploading it on youtube?
    Thanks in advance.
Cheers and keep up the good show!

Edit: I tried programs such as restream and dvdpatcher with no luck at all.

I'd do something like this: avconv -i infile.mpg -vcodec copy -acodec copy -aspect 4:3 outfile.mpg

Using the great avconv from libav (https://libav.org/avconv.html)

    [EDIT]

Seems the copy option in avconv forces to disregard the aspect option, then I'd do this:
mencoder infile.mpg -oac copy -ovc copy -of mpeg -mpegopts vaspect=4/3 -o outfile.mpg

    Using mencoder:

    Yakumo-sama, I have a request for you.

Apparently this download link in your site is dead: http://www.segagagadomain.com/dc-gamevids/dc-beta-pso.avi
Could you re-upload it please in the best quality possible?

Also, I would like to ask if I can add it to my new youtube channel, I'll give proper credits to you of course.
My idea is to gather PSO early video footage in one place in the best quality possible.
Here's my first upload btw: http://youtu.be/IVQmgBb5XB0

    Thanks in advance.

no worries. I really should redo all of these videos in HD without the nasty interlacing effect.

Yakumo, I disagree with you upon the Golden Axe version of the Sega Ages version. Cause a mate and I have played the European version which is called Sega Classics Collection, and it is more like a "Greatest hits" version of Sega Ages. And we played Golden Axe , and we had fun. So Perhaps I do not see exactly what the trouble (which you have mentioned) is. Cause the friend and I had fun playing that game. And we did NOT experience the bugs you mentioned. So either him and I were lucky, or something else. Also I did not see the level taking longer to complete was a bad thing(we did not complete the game either). But oh well, you can not always please all. And I am enjoying the video so far.

They probably fixed some bugs / glitches by the time the Sega Classics Collection got an US / Euro versions.

It's still a crappy game though.

Okay, well I had fun playing that version. But as I said, who gives a toss ? I don't ! Cause to me it was fun playing it with two players. Of course it is NOT smashing great like the arcade original. But I have played MUCH worse games than this . And I disagree, that it is a load of shit.

Nobody is saying you're wrong. No matter how good or bad a game is, the most important thing is if you like it or not. If you had fun playing it, great!
