I invested a lot of money AND serious amount of time in making my ratio go up! And now all that is lost?! Who is to blame? At least you could put up UG for two weeks so we could leech all stuff we want as said above.
I loved UG, but seriously - they have obviously taken it down for a valid reason, asking the owner to put it up for 'a couple of weeks' is pretty rude at this point!
Really dude? I donated, invested time in contributing to the site, invested bandwidth/terabytes of upload larger than my download, was an Elite VIP, etc. But 1) it's a torrent site obviously in violation of the law, expecting a return for your investments in the site is silly and the only person to blame for your lost money and time is yourself, and 2) the owners/staff of the site put themselves and their personal lives at risk by running the place and they destroyed everything to protect themselves and people like yourself who contributed. Show a little damn respect.
Not happening. This isn't "the least" but rather "the dumbest, most suicidal thing" we could do at this point. Go to the IRC channel, sign up on the temp forums. There are tools available to process UG torrents and create non-private-flagged (ie: trackerless) versions. Precisely. "Erase the servers, NOW" is an order not made without good reasons. And that is what happened here.
A real damn shame Will take years of work to get a site like UG with it's sheer amount of content that couldn't be found elsewhere. Full catalogs of PS1 titles are torrents you just won't find anywhere else, especially not with any decent seeds that's for sure. Such an awesome site. R.I.P
All PS fullsets are in PleasureDome, with a lot of seeds. Not the same with Gamecube, Playstation 2 and XBOX fullsets :-/ The XBOX full collection and rare stuff collection (with all demos from OXM) was totally amazing.
Guh. Just when I was going to update some romsets. UG was done so well, i never even looked for other communities. Do they even exist? When other trackers go down, there's usually another one that picks up the community and we rebuild. I would love to see that here.
Too bad I didn't know of the existance of UG until I read this thread... who knows how much I may have missed from what I may be looking for
I feel really sorry for UG being taken down. I used to be a member there for just about a year and I was really looking forward to contributing more. The community there was so big it was kinda like a family. I wish every staff member good luck in bringing the site back on its feet. Man, I really miss the UG forums. Maybe they could bring back that part of the site, and not the torrents, for now?

That screenshot was posted before the site owner told 5thhorseman that he had no intention to reopen the site, also just saying the words most likely doesn't automatically guarantee that something will happen it just means that the chances are high.

Anyone thinking an illegal , open to almost anyone repository of copyrighted software would remain ignored forever is kidding themselves.
