Im Andy, used to work in the game industry, left due to health reasons, now sell on ebay part time to pay the bills How can i help - still have (some) contact in the buisness, also have some alpha / beta and dev bits and bobs, and can donate funds, research and purchase if necessairy Interests - dreamcast, n64, xbox games etc. and dev hardware
Intro - My name is Peter and I live in the UK. I don't work in the games industry or anything (my work place is really close to Core Design though ^_^) How can I help - At work I mostly have to collect and sort/research data so I can help with things like that. I can donate money and I always have some free time each week. What I would like us to find - I hoped one day we could find/play Dinosaur Planet for N64 or Gaia Blade for Xbox. I hoped to I could one day play a beta version of Dead or Alive XBV when everything was different like in the early screenshots.
Adrian, 30, legal eagle (insurance), not in the games industry sadly. More a collector than gamer too due to time (its easier to buy games at work than play them lol). Can chip in for most things. Can offer time for research, calls, emails etc for things I'm really interested in, but not for things I'm not. Most interested in MD, 32x, PCE, Saturn, Neo and especially Marty/Towns. And RE1.5 of course. Interested in most other consoles too but not overly fussed tbh. Most interested in true unreleased games, and unreleased games on a given platform (irrespective of whether they saw a release on another eg Silky Lip pce, even though it got a MCD release). Not so fussed about betas or early builds of released games on whichever platform (eg early Saturn Clockwork Night which was of course released on Saturn)
Sam Saint - Student/Model/Gamer Living in the UK now, but later this summer will be in Japan and am pretty well connected in Osaka. For example I was offered an early build of a Jp N64 mahjong game - didn't buy - V dull! And I got a bunch of 3DO unreleased stuff from the same guy. So if I hear news of anything really exciting I would get involved sharpish What I can bring is cash and my Japanese language. Seeing as I only collect Japanese items I would defo do whatever I could to get good Japanese stuff out in the open. With Western items they would probably need some historical value or playability for me to be excited. My holy grail is the early build of Popolocrois III, before it became Hajime no Bouken.
Chris- not in the games industry just an avid gamer and collector I can provide some info on dreamcast or xbox items I would love to see anything dreamcast or xbox or especially anything mortal Kombat Related
1 - Anthony, 28 2 - Money if possible at the moment of need is not a problem. 3 - Highly intrested in anything SNES/n64 related for the moment. Huntig N64 betas RE0 & Earthbound.
My name's Lee, 26, Male (last time i checked!) and i dont work in the games industry, i supply parts for race cars, performance items and general all round difficult to find items... Sadly, money isnt always readily available but i can offer a servant heart when it comes to doing anything i am presented with. usually immersing myself into something so that if i dont understand it fully at the beginning.. i will know most of it by the end! I also have an uncanny knack for sourcing difficult to find items and chasing down leads of enquiry. Im more of an all round collector, not really focusing on one System tbh.. ., although the systems that mostly catch my attention are the PS range...
Lee, 19, I'm a student and I also work in Gamestation. I'm not really a collector but I do have a fairly large amount of gaming related stuff few rare bits though. I'll chip in as I did with Sonic, I don't have a huge amount of money but I'll always have something to give. I'm definately most interested in stuff that was unreleased, but I', fairly intrigued by games that faced siginificant changes during developement.
Luke, not in the gaming industry. Getting unreleased and prototype games released for everyone to play is my greatest joy hunting prototypes. I have done it with some success so far, mostly Megadrive (www.hidden-palace.org) I can help with research and contacting people, I have successfully done that for years. I can also help with the techincal matters - getting some protos to work (some require special hardware and will eg. not work on emulators), especially of older systems (cartridge based). I can also help by dumping such protos, or providing/finding ways to do so. Myself I think that any prototype deserves its chance, but I prefer what everybody prefers - unreleased; significantly different prototypes (like alphas) of released games; first-party games (Nintendo and Sega comes to mind); GOOD games - in that order. I can also help code minor stuff, like some app to manage money (believe me it can get hefty when you want to manage moneypools like that), or even major stuff, if required.
Intro: My name's Paul...I'm a sophomore at Purdue University majoring in Computer Science so that I can work in the gaming industry in the near future. How I can help: Being a college student puts a damper on me financially, but I am able to chip in here and there like I did with Sonic Xtreme. What I would like us to find: I would like to find more obscure Dreamcast and Gamecube titles, as I'm highly interested in both these consoles.
Tom - I'm not in the industry though maybe someday. I've been into video games and collecting them as long as I can remember. Not really sure what I could help with other than donating money when I can. I'd like us to find anything particularly interesting and more importantly decently playable. Unreleased games or betas that have some drasticly different content than the released version.
1- Stewart, hardcore gamer with an unhealthy obsession for hoarding. 2- Money, between gaming and work i don't have much spare time for anything else. 3- Interested in all aspects of gaming but mainly SMS and MD.
1. My name is Tim, I'm a BSc Geography graduate looking to become a teacher. 2. I can contribute money and thats about it. But if someone delegates responsibility I can handle it. 3. Interested in Sega stuff mostly..but something really special might take my fancy.
Name is Jme. Not an industry insider. Far too few contacts within (they're all collectors anyway). I can contribute money to some degree for worthwhile causes. I have no qualms about contacting/locating old developers (in the US as I only speak English). Interested in most anything I shouldn't have access to (Betas/Demos/Unreleased/NFS Items (i.e. Kiosk Demos, etc.)) Systems that have the biggest draw for me are NES, Genesis/MD, SegaCD, Dreamcast, and all portables - but most anything will do if it's not pure garbage anyway (like say... Barbie/Bratz/etc.) unless the garbage is so bad it's good - or for the NES (love pirate originals). I'm rambling now... so I'll shut up.
Name is not a secret, but I prefer WDK, or WolverineDK (or any other deriviation of my nick) here on the forum. 1. I can contribute money every now and then. 2. I have a photographic memory. 3. I don´t talk about fightclub.
1. Intro- Andrew and i'm currently a Computing student so not in the industry 2. How I can help - I can help wit money, time and if needs be some things computer related 3. What I would like us to find - Anything from the psx,saturn,n64 era backwards to about when the NES was arround
1. Intro- I'm Justin, cuurently working at WalMart (ugh...), but looking to get into the industry (via Gatlin Education, as FullSail is waaaay too expensive), and have two Associate Degrees in Computer Science (Microcomputer Specialist and Network Specialist), but didn't get to use them. 2. How I can help - Money I guess 3. What I would like us to find - I'm not too picky, so no actual preference.
1. Marshall - 17 years alive - I'm writing a 3d software rasterizer and coding n64 whenever I can. 2. I could help with the n64 tech info I know (I'm sure barc0de knows just as much) and maybe a few bucks here and there. 3. Looking forward to n64 dev equipment and protos. (dreamcast to a lesser extent)
Anthony, 31 years old and an English teacher. I've been 'into' computers since the ZX81. I love playing games and believe wholeheartedly that a game doesn't have to 'look' good to actually 'be' good. Except for cash, not a great deal- I've scoured the web for all things 'dreamcast' but compared to some of the experts here i really know very little. I have relatives/friends in the industry but none of them are in any position to get me those rare betas and whatnot (alas!). I'll always chip in for a fundraiser - even if it means i can't eat for a day. I'm interested in anything console (post Saturn) related but i'm prepared to contribute towards other formats as well - in the spirit of a community. I am also not a flat out pirate in any way shape or form. If it is something that would remain buried then I firmly believe we have the upper hand. - But, if it is something that would rob individuals of future profit for 'their' work then I would step aside. Case in point; 'Double Dragon' recently put onto xbox live arcade. Here is a product (game) designed for the arcades in around 1986.....It was not pre-conceived at that early stage (in 1986)that someday it would have a new lease of life...i paid my money then - and quite a lot of it. But i'm not paying £8 now. - I call that shameless cashing-in. MAME Forever...! We may live in a grey area but I know where 'I' stand. Peace n' Skunk
1) James and not in the gaming industry 2) Money but if something rare comes up ASSEMbler will know first 3) Anything unreleased, alpha, beta or anything really.
