Ok I don't know whos invited here and whos not. I can't ask someone if they are a member here without giving the group away if they are not. I see us a union working together to get the most for as little as possible and I want to hear from all of you. The way I see it if we get organized we can really make an impact and everyone can contribute. If you don't have money you can always do research/email/make calls to find these unreleased games before we even spend a dime. If we really are to work together as a team we need to know who is on it and what they do. Everyone can do something. Tell us three things... who you are, what you can help with and what you want to see. 1. Intro- My name is Adam and I'm not in the gaming industry. I live in the US and I've been collecting anything I can get my hands on since the mid 90's. 2. How I can help - I'm best as a manager and organizing but can also contribute cash from time to time. I also have a few games I wouldn't mind donating. Not all of them but a few. 3. What I would like us to find - I'd like to see more titles on any platform that can be made into a cartridge played on the original system. If this is possible I'd love to see some Turbo Grafx and Virtual Boy. Edit I just saw a post someone said they are from Australia. This is good info too. If a game developer happens to be overseas it would be easier for people from that county to contact them.
1. Andrew, not in the gaming industry either, probably collect more than I play... 2. Money mostly I guess... 3. N64, Xbox, comic book related stuff...Genesis and SNES as well...3DO, don't see much of that going around
Intro - I'm Dave, work as an engineer in the mining industry and collect mostly PlayStation hardware. How I can help - Money (for the right things) and the odd bit of miscellaneous help here and there... What I want to see - I'd like to see this part of the site collect all the information and/or software and/or hardware associated with the SNES CD / Play Station concept (this could include us making up the packaging that such a system might have had, the CD case layout etc - the Sonic Xtreme cover designs have been a highlight of the last months posts, so let's see that skill applied elsewhere too!).
1. Ben, University student studying Digital media so I don't have many contacts who can find unreleased builds etc 2. Money (small amounts ), correspondence via Emails or Phone (within Australia so not really helpful) 3. Entirely unreleased games - especially original concepts that were scrapped, also early betas of games that changed dramatically (Dinosaur Planet, Infected, Apocolpse)
1. I'm Henry, I'm going into college and planning on being a robotic engineer... 2. I can help with money...I don't have alot of connections out side of you guys. 3. anything unreleased, the more complete the better. or early beta or alpha of a released title to compare...or even incomplete games that were scrapped. basically anything.
I'm Eric and I'm a 19-year-old student. Some little money here and there (except maybe a good chunk if it's something Dreamcast) and Dreamcast knowledge. I'm looking for anything Dreamcast.
1. My name is Peter S. and I'm not in the gaming industry. I grew up reading EGMs and GamePros in the mid-90s (when the Internet wasn't the main source of gaming news) and I've kept up on hardware and software mostly from the 80s to modern day. I probably know the most about gaming in my area, if that says anything. I'm entering UCSB and majoring in Electrical Engineering, so I may be outsourced for technical expertise if all goes well. X3 2. How I can help - relaying info to the relevant parties... and donating here and there. I can only do so much considering I don't really have any sort of income nor the knowledge some of you members have. But I can get word of the community out there (whilst abiding by the 0th Bit rules when necessary). 3. I would like to see the rarest of the rare -- the stuff that requires the greatest cooperation of all to even make possible. More than ever does something like RE1.5 seem possibly within our reach. If a game like that were to become a possibility for our "ownership," you could imagine what it would do for member participation and the community as a whole.
I'm Ted not in the gaming industry. Like to collect and play when time permits, I can help w/ money and trying to hunt things down as I have had some luck doing that before, I'm open to help getting anything from the attic to those who will enjoy it!
Jason-not in the gaming industry. I'm just now getting back to a chance in spending time on the hobby again. I can contribute in money or time/labor (tbd on a case by case basis). I've been around since the old EZBoards and look forward (now that I have the time) meeting the newer members and working with everyone to release some great titles. -J
Andrew- I run PtoPOnline, thats about as into the industry as I get right now. I can contribute time, money, and the occasional beta, along with being great at garnering publicity. Id like to find some unique CD-i items, and large name titles (such as Diablo...dotdot) for consoles, specifically older cart formats.
I'm Kieran (sometimes J), Student, Living in Canada. Kinda short on cash right now (no job, PC to pay off and music gear to buy), but willing to help when I can. I love to find code and music files, and sprites.
Cezar - not in the gaming industry either. More gamer than collector but always looking for interesting "obscure" stuff on any system. Having been a gamer for 15 years and as a convinced multiplatformer I share equal interest for all systems since the 16bit era. I will donate (some money) in order to support this community and can also help translating Japanese sources (did so with some materials on "Karate Ninja Sho" for Neo Geo). Anything that requires the work of the community as a whole is worth supporting. This is a great chance to acquire and share what would be eventually lost otherwise.
Brice, not in the gaming industry but I am placed rather nicely between a lot of gaming companies in the SF Bay Area. Played games and became a collector to play as opposed to just hoarding. I can donate, dumpster dive if another Atari style dump goes down. I'd be happy with anything really. I'm not a particular Nintendo/Sony dev hardware lover but I like just about anything else. I really like prototypes of already existing games mostly to see the differences as opposed to unreleased games. They're nice too but nothing says cool like playing a cut level.
1. Name's Corey, born and raised in Canada, 19 years old and a university student. I am definitely have a collection of video games, but am a player first and foremost. I of course also am very very interested in unreleased games, but am much more interested in community dumps and releases then "hoarding". 2. I am always on the lookout for new contacts to try and organize releases, and will continue to hunt for what is worthwhile. I also am availble to donate to good fundraisers. 3. Personally I really want to see unreleased games that are unique and playable. By unique I mean games that weren't simply cancelled and moved to another platform. By Playable I mean not simply a tech demo, and some fair degree of completion. My holy grails are the games that were completed or nearly completed, but never got a release, especially VB games like Dragon Hopper and Bound High!. Also N64 stuff would be really nice to unveil especaily Twelve Tails: Conker 64, and the original N64 Dinosaur Planet.
Jorge, not in the gaming industrie either, i'm 18 and i live in Chile, i'm just starting to collect things, but sadly i haven't got anything yet =(. I can donate, and for now that's about all i can do I would like to see, as darcagn, mostly dreamcast stuff, but i also would like to find snes and ps2 protos/unrealeased games.
1. Jared - not in the industry but collect games for most systems, but the 8 and 16bit era in particular 2. Quite a bit of money if its needed, as well as time. Plus I can be very persuasive, so phone calls? 3. More unreleased titles as I dont find most betas interesting. I'd really like to see most of this stuff get a public release so as many people as possible can experience these games.
Alvin, student Money in group efforts and eventually some research Interested in beta games in general, no platform especially.
Paul - Not in the games industry however can fix your plane if needed. Into collecting in a big way. can provide cash where needed. Sms or MD stuff would be the icing on the cake.
1. Ivan, 25 year old Sega fanatic from the Netherlands. Actively collecting Sega stuff since 1998. 2. Chipping in like on SonicXtreme. I've already 'leaked' some Saturn stuff before and might do that again in the future. 3. Everything SEGA has my interest. But I always enjoy looking at pictures other unreleased stuff. I'm most interested in Saturn prototypes and early builds.
