1) Jon, 30 living in Jersey UK. There is no software houses over here, so alas I work in Finance. 2) Cash flow is pretty good right now, so I'm happy to help out in that respect. Have good Project Management skills if ever required, but free time is not something I have a lot of right now. I'm happy to travel places to meet people or pick stuff up, provided I'm given enough advanced warning.... 3) I'm really interested in anything Nintendo (SNES, GC and DS moreso). Unreleased games, documentation and dev items would be ideal for me.
1) Sean, 21, New Brunswick Canada. Not in the game industry at the moment but currently studying to be. 2) I'll be donating cash. Money is seriously strapped at the moment but should loosen up in the fall. 3) I'm into unreleased games moreso than betas. Especially really bizarre/offensive/obscure stuff.
1) Greg, 22, Currently residing in Florida. Not in the games industry atm, but will be graduating from my studies to get into it shortly. 2). I can offer money towards fund raisers. 3). I'm interested in protos for any 3D game thats not sports/racing related. 2D game protos don't interest me much unless its something famous (ex: original Super Mario World). Platformers are the most interesting to me.
1. My name's Jon. I'm 19 years old, going to college in Seattle majoring in International Business. I want to learn foreign languages and travel. I've always been a gamer but within the last 6 months or so, I've been taking collecting fairly seriously. 2. Basically just donate money. I don't really have any connections in the gaming Industry. Emotional support. 3. The rare and obscure.
1. Simon from Scotland. Formerly an audio engineer/video editor/digital compositor in the games industry - nothing exciting by the way! I was involved in independent games development in the dying days of the Amiga, and went on to work on some high-profile (and award winning) educational games based on pre-school children's TV characters. I also worked on some TV advertising campaigns and promotional CD-ROMs for various companies. 2. I don't have any contacts still in the industry that could yield anything - to be honest, our little bedroom coding endeavour on the Amiga had more organisation than the company we eventually worked for years later. I could tell horror stories all day of company directors deleting work-in progress builds, betas, alphas, promotional materials, unused concepts for whole games from servers after 3-day benders to make room for more Teen Lolita porn to show to reps from client companies. 3. Anything with a hint of mystery, the forbidden - anything like a peek behind the curtain - why certain decisions were made, why concepts were scrapped, why directions changed.
Didn't see this thread till now. Not really interested in this sort of thing (kinda odd for someone here lol) but I'm allowed to see it. I've respected ASSEMblers wishes and kept quiet about it.
1. Intro- My name is Joshua. I'm 17 years of age. I've been into gaming for about the past ten or so years now; collecting for about the past three. I was forever corrupted when my mom brought home an SNES bundled with Super Mario World. 2. How I can help - Unfortunately, I'm jobless. That may change soon, though. Hopefully I'll be able to donate a few bucks every so often. 3. What I would like us to find - I'd love to see anything related to the Dreamcast and Xbox. Nothing really specific.
I should post something too! 1. Intro- My name is Marco, from Germany and I'm not really in the gaming Industry. I have a few friends there though and I'd like to do some things regarding game music. But this will still take some time 2. How I can help- That's a good question. I will let you know when I can Of course, cash is always something I can donate. 3. What I would like us to find- Well. Personally I like DC/Saturn stuff. also anything 8/16-bit. Doesn't matter that much as long as it's cool
Xerdo here. Why I'm allowed to post here, I have no idea. I live somewhere smack dab in the middle of the mexican midwest, five minutes from Guadalajara. Oddities and rare retro-stuff collector, but not extreme or even professional at that. In terms of work, my only contact with the games industry is that my students (I teach High School and College level English, Spanish, or mostly language or research classes, but I also sub for basic computing class as well) are generally avid gamers. I play them on Xbox live and generally get my arse handed to me. I generally don't have much access to first world commodities in terms of gaming, but I generally come across weird or pirate stuff in mexican flea markets. I don't know if that's any help at all.
1. Matheus, 24, gamer and collector, MSX lover, living in Brazil. 2. Money I guess. 3. Everything Sega.
XerdoPwerko: you were chosen, to have acces to this. Section, because you know how to , shut the fuck up, mate And also because you are one of the veteran members, just like me. But it is a mystery, why some of the very new members has acces to this section. But that needs some background, which I have none of.
1. My name is Chris and I don't work in anything close to gaming. I'm an Asset Manager in Real Estate Private Equity. I have been gaming and collecting for about 15 years, and I'd have a lot more neat gaming stuff if I hadn't done several "purges" over the years. 2. I can help with money, legwork, organization, and anything else that doesn't require me to know people in the industry, because I know none. 3. I have a particular interest in any sort of store demo/E3 demo/retail demo items that were never actually sold. I don't have much interest in anything non-playable and I can't code, but I love to collect hardcopy store demo items. I'd also obviously be interested in things like playable Starfox2 or Sonic Xteme, because, well, isn't everyone?
1. Jonathan from Northern California. Graphic designer by trade, nothing in the game industry. 2. I don't have cash, but I do have some limited contacts at Nintendo and Namco-Bandai Games America. 3. I'm interested in seeing the unique and unusual. Development hardware, production art, betas, unreleased hardware and games, development process documentation, old print media, etc.
It appears I never posted here, so I'll do it now if you don't mind :110: Rich, 23, currently studying Computing at Plymouth. Alas, not in the industry - more of a consumer although I am learning DirectX. Mostly I'll help with getting the word out, trying to locate stuff, that sort of bag. I'd love to see us become a superleague of giants - but failing that I'll settle for us finding stuff that no-one knew existed or thought lost forever. Oh, and try and break the rediculous prices people pay for protos
Netherlands here.. not in the gaming industry sadly enough did apply for a job at Lost Boys/Guerrilla a long time ago but didn't get the job did some design work in the past but now im an engineer mainly handling servers and internet software at some ISP .. and making a beginning at programming as a hobby and to finally make some use of my dev stuff lol If any help is needed with unix/win related stuff or webdesign holla at me Can also contribute some money if it's for helping out with the hosting/forum costs but not really interested in unreleased games to be honost as im more in to consoles and dev stuff but i'll be tempted with PC-FX or 3DO M2 stuff. Interested in dev/debug and retail consoles (mainly) Sony & 3DO and some scattered interest in obscure consoles like the PC-FX.
1.My name is Jonathan, working in the games industry is my dream job (preferably with a smaller company that doesnt make you work 60 hour weeks but right now I have no job. I dont actually have anything gaming related as a collection per-se (unless you count my collection of Command & Conquer series PC games) but if I had the money I would love to have a collection of arcade machines (my dream is to one day own a pinball machine) 2.If something comes up that I personally would be interested in, I might donate some of the small amount of cash I actually have. Unfortunatly my finances preclude donating for most projects. If anyone needs anything done with C++ or x86 assembler, I can probably help with that though. In particular, I am quite good at reverse engineering x86 assembly. If its running on 32bit flat x86 (i.e. not the old 16 bit segmented stuff) and IDA pro can read it and disassemble it, I can probably pull it to bits and figure stuff out about how it works. 3.I would most like to see any PC stuff, especially PC games that were never relased. (finding a playable copy of Babylon 5: Into The Fire would be my holy grail) Any previously unavailable content connected to the Command & Conquer series (betas, dev builds, code, unreleased stuff etc) would kick ass too.
1. I'm Chris. 24 (25 in a few weeks). I'm a published game reviewer (print media only) in Texas. I've been playing games since 1986 and have owned most every major platform, along with some lesser known (in the states anyway), such as the TG-16 and Atari Lynx. 2. I'm in contact with many of the PR people in the US videogame market, so I can try to ask questions that aren't often aked. I can contribute small amounts of cash from time to time. 3. I love learning about the industry, especially the things people don't often see, such as debug/prototype/development hardware and software.
1. My name is Jonathan (tend to go by JP) and I do not work in the game industry. Well, technically I do since I work at a gamestore, but I don't work on making games or anything. Though right now I'm in college for degrees in physics, math, and optical engineering. 2. Well, I get a lot of behind the scenes info from the gamestore, which I'm always happy to spread around. I also know several people who do work in the industry as well as several journalists... so I get in on a lot of the juicy rumors early. In so far as money... well, if I get my previous boss' job (once he moves up) then I'd be able to donate monthly. Other than that, I'm just a psychotic Saturn collector. I guess technically I have collections for other consoles, but the Saturn is my focus and my passion. 3. I just love having this site as the ultimate resource for anything I need to know gaming wise... be it hardware, business, software, etc.
1) My name is Mike. No gaming industry contacts or insight. I'm 26 and recently graduated with an MBA in management. I also have a bachelor's degree in computer technology. So, you can see where at least some of my interests lie. 2) Once I have a job, I would love to contribute monetarily, especially if its something major. I'm not sure what else I could muster. However, if asked, I would try my best to assist in any way possible. 3) I'm happy and thankful to get whatever comes our way. I'm just very grateful to be a small part in this great community. I'll take anything I can get. However, having said that, I do have a special place in my heart for anything Sega or Dreamcast related...
