Not for the painting & lacquering, I don't! Seriously, it's one of the few things that I'll happily pay someone else to do. The electrical/mechanical side, I'm much more content to mess around with, though.

Don't knock it - this is absolutely the best way to really learn stuff.

There's another forum I am a member of where there's a guy called Adam who's paint work is immaculate and puts everything else I have seen to complete shame. He wrote a guide and I have to admit it really helped. I shall try and link to it some point soon.

I'm like you, I'd gladly pay someone to ensure I got the best finish possible. There's a spray shop about 1/4 of a mile from here and I've yet to get a quote from them for some work.

Because of my location, spray painting larger objects is a serious undertaking mainly due to the weather. It rains way too often around here for my liking - that's one edge you'd have on most people :110:

The thing is it's nigh impossible to get quite as good a finish from a can of spray paint as you do from a proper spray gun and compressor. It would be expecting to much from an aerosol really, when you think about how much they cost vs an industrial setup

Yeah, it's just trying your hardest to get rid of the 'orange peel' effect that is the key. It's pretty hard work tbh.

I bought one of these games 1 year ago. I made one motorcycle blue with Suzuki GSXR decals and one motorcycle red with Ducati decals.

Hi, welcome to the boards - post images if you have any, it would be great to see other people's handy work!

Sadly, my unit is now sold, but it was great fun whilst it lasted and I would get another if it turned up cheaply enough.

I bought one of these game last year for $300.00 everything worked great. I had to clean it up. I found $125.76 worth of coin inside when I took it apart to move it into my basement. I painted one motorcycle red with Ducati decals and one motorcycle blue with Suzuki GSXR decals. I best lap time had has been 58.38 seconds. I love this game, I also got this for my birthday. I am trying to add some picturesm but right now my files are too large.
