Sequent's PlayStation Collection

I've been looking around some shops and they seem to have cleared all units of this model some time ago (they're already waiting for the God of War red PSP).

Always thought that, being both PAL areas, we'd have at least the same ltd edition and variant consoles.

Anyway, if you need help with any auction just let me know (especially if the seller's spanish). It's really annoying to find some game or console at a nice price only to find the seller only ships to his country (happened to me twice with the same seller recently).

You have a very impressive collection,I would love to see a pic of the Australian Formula 1 GP limited edition PS3.

I love the limited edition stuff. There's few things better than walking into the spare room and seeing 22 different PSPs all lined up. Kind of cool, in a nerdy way...

Anyway, I've got the Monster Hunter 2 PSP (17,000 produced) which is lucky because they sold through really quickly. Also got my pre-order confirmed for the MGS4 Gunmetal PS3, and.... I finally managed to get a brand new in box PSX (DESR 5700)..! I would have liked the 7700 model more, but have been searching for ages for a new one of those with little luck. Photos in a week or so.

OMG, I never even realised there were 22 different PSP editions. Nowhere NEAR your league of collecting! Couldn't afford to be, the wife would bin me, take the kids and have me committed before letting me collect at that level. She is one of those people that will say 'It's black, that one is white, that one is blue...and?'

They just do not understand! :noooo:

 

Whenever I get discouraged about not being able to find certain Playstation items I want for my collection, I just look at your collection and it brings a smile to my face.

 

Don't worry, all of us here have some items which we've not been able to find. I'm still looking for a Snow White PS2, and it's been over four years now... That's part of the fun, they tell me.

 

I know. The thrill of the chase is what keeps me going.

 

A few updates to the collection:

Firstly, some items have been sold, specifically the Toys R US Satin Silver PS2 and the SCPH-50000 Sakura PS2, plus the original SCPH-1002 PlayStation. The PS2s went because they didn't really fit into the collection scheme (I already have the limited edition SCPH-39000 Sakura and Satin Silver, so the later SCPH-50000 series, which were not limited edition, were a bit redundant). The SCPH-1002 went because it wasn't brand new, and was a mix and match of components I put together to bring it back to original condition.

Now to the recent additions. The first is a BRAND NEW SCPH-1001 PlayStation. This thing has never been unpacked.



The second item is a new Monster Hunters Portable 2nd G PSP (if you follow the Japanese charts, you'd be aware that this game sold 1.5m in two weeks, and the 17,000 editions of this PSP sold in minutes).



And lastly, but most importantly, I finally found a brand new in box PSX-DESR-5700. This had not been opened until I did to check it's contents. It's still not been unpacked.



A few more PS2 games arrived this month also, of particular note are Gradius V and Killer 7, and a few others that I've wanted for a while.

Bronze PSP Value Pack arrived last week together with a brand new PS multitap (I'm trying to get all the accessories that launched with the PS in Japan and the US back in 94/95, I've got the units and most accessories, just a couple more to chase down).

 

Did you ever find that stand for the PStwo you were looking for?
Saw one today for fairly cheap, let me know and I'll pick it up for you.

 

Nah, never found one. I'm looking for a "fat" PS2 vertical stand in Aqua and a slimline PS2 vertical stand in Satin Silver. If it's new or complete in the box and in good nick, PM me with the price including freight to Australia and I'll sort you out. Cheers, Dave.

 

Did you ever chase up those arcade units? If not I spotted a System573 and System246 listed on French eBay. Both fairly cheap and not particularly well listed. Might be worth checking out. Only issue with System573 being that it's a fishing title and no controller.

 

I looked into the arcade units, but I'm having a bit of collection crisis about where to go next. At this stage I've decided that I'm going to focus on getting all the official retail PS accessories (memory cards, controllers, cables etc) rather than branch out into arcade stuff (for the moment). The broader part of this is that I'm thinking of focusing on retail PS hardware, and getting rid of all my development gear simply because it's too hard and expensive to get new (or as-new) dev gear. Hmmmmm.... not sure.

In fact, literally as I write this, the parcel man has just dropped off my new-in-box PS1 development kit mouse and a collection of nine different coloured official PS2 memory cards.
