This is an old picture. I use a different Xbox now since this one has a lot of sentimental value and I don't want to thrash the hard drive any more than it already has been. It's still sitting in the closet and gets dragged out on occasion, though.
Yeah, the paint is a little worse for wear (10+ years old... hard to believe) but still looks pretty decent. I also replaced the controller ports with ones lacking LEDs (distracting during movies) but I still have them somewhere as well. If I get the time and somewhere to work, I may mod my current Xbox as I now have a bit more patience and (hopefully) skill.
Weired, I used to have a xbox I modded that looked 99% the same as yours (minus the controller port leds) weired indeed..
I was actually thinking about adding two more LEDs in the grips down by the motors and wiring them that way. Get some flashing action when the motors go off.
Dakota Pad and Trusty 1.4GHz P3-S + 128MB RAM. I added an X3, Xerc-2 and X3CP to it. @Floydthebarber, Nice box there! Thx for the cheap Xerc2, too! It's great that I don't have to get off my ass when I crash something!
+1 Also - was the IR slot drilled out to accommodate the switch or can you reinstate the IR window? Just wondering because nice green X3CPs are pretty scarce nowadays.
My guess would be that the switch is likely the 733mhz - 1.4ghz toggle switch that Trusty provides. I am jealous though, I really would love a green x3cp.
Oh yeah. I should have mentioned that. I popped the little window off. You can unscrew the led panel to get a better angle to unclip it.Once the little window is clear, it makes for a pretty good hole for the toggle switch without having to carve anything out. I paid a lot for that particular X3CP. Yep, the switch is for the trusty mod.
Main mods: Trusty 1.4ghz + 128mb, X3CE, X3IR, 2TB HDD, Internal IR Dongle and wireless Logitech controller dongle.
Specs: V1.0 mother board - TSOP flashed. Blue Ghost Case Removed DVD cover and removed shields Painted jewel black Swapped the front LEDs to blue/white Still need to: Swap a larger HDD Swap the DVD drive to a modded PC drive Put blue/red LEDs in the front Thinking about round IDE cables, or some other cable management to hide that ugly ribbon cable The left side blue LED died, so I have it set to white right now. Will replace them with red/blue bi colors when I get around to taking the whole thing apart again. That will make it so they can be blue, red or purple instead of blue, blue and white, as white and blue is still pretty blue LOL
I been debating it, but dont want to go crazy with the LEDs. The front panel lights are bright enough as it is. I have been thinking about adding something to diffuse the LEDs in front to kind of tone it down and spread the light. Should be easy with a few pieces of scotch tape or something of the sorts Edit: if I do the controller port leds, I could put the same red/blue as the front control panel and wire it up so they coordinate
