but just for these things i joint assemblergames
Nice topic let me dig up some old picture..

Recent photo showing my 3 xbox´s when i am upgrading them for coinops 6 and visionary (shows 3 but got 4 now plus lots of extra´s, made new skins for visionary 4 still in creating progress)


I planned to use my xbox´s in my arcade cabinets got a Virtua Racing, Virtua Striker and Funny slot most complete

see the video if you like will show my funny slot maschine in action. Remark replace 1 button with a joystick, lights for buttons are not connected. (xbox colors)

*Starting Below xbox 1.1 (if i remember correct) Panzer dragoon orta skin made way back just for fun worked at that time in sign shop so easy access to vinyl stickers.
Mods: build-in IR; Custom Jewel engraved nickname led ring, the back of that one is more special more picture below.

*Then Clear case and softmod xbox 1.1 Mods: only swapt the case for te clear one. Easy mod

*Then a 1.3 xbox Mods: Xecuter X3 XBOX Modchip inc replaced front and Display IR the works, not a hard mod to do

Because i swapt a case for a new one i got one extra case so i did a paint job

But i made a extra mod for my xbox.
Below a old Dvd player only the case it holds 2 HDD formatted for my xbox.
I can select the HDD by rotating the switch on the back of the DVD player case.
1 ide cable and 1 power kabel that connect to my xbox

you can see the switches on the back for hdd selection; don´t remember how i did it. but it work perfect then.

Yes i used a original Xbox game DVD case for my auto installer DVD lol
back then on Xbox-scene people where so puzzled

Holycrap dude, that's probably the most mods I've seen in an Xbox for a while.

 

Thx what can i say "i like to do mods" also one xbox can be turned on by memory card.
Don`t have a picture atm but i added a button to my memory card, I used the usb connections that is used for the light gun system.
No Light gun so no need for that pin

Dude!! How and where did you get a new in box red xcm case?! I want one of those soo bad you have no idea.

 

Well, I have some connection with the manufacturer but they don't have any! After about a week of searching I found it locally! They only had the red for 45eur, I don't know if they have any of these in stock any more but I will ask if you want and calculate shipping cost to your state. I might also take some more to save. Any idea of how rare these are and what should be a correct price because 45 i think is a little high!

I did this mod to my Xbox controller. Now I can easily softmod any Xbox !

 

Nothing special but its a start.
1.4 TSOP, ir in player 3, and some usb ports

 

I'd like to have posted a better photo but its taken nearly an hour to get that one up...
anyway this is a custom xbox shell i've been working on, its a crystal xbox shell but sprayed white on the inside giving it a "frosted white" look (and it wont ever scratch or chip) changed the eject light to blue and put on a back lit transparent top jewel + matching controller

 

Hey solo - looks nice mate. I like the idea of spraying from the inside. Try and get some bigger pics up - oh - and some night time ones showing the jewel )

 

That's probably the best inside paint job I've seen. The white works really well. Please get a bigger picture up!

At first I didn't like it, but now I do. Looks very slick.

 

i masked off the front leds to prevent excessive bleed through on the front panel which was one aspect i didn't like about the crystal case.

I don't know if it is just me but I am not usually a fan of painted consoles - they can look so tacky. Having said that, I really do like what you have done here - that looks really classy. It really does show off the lines of the console and the controller - well done mate.

 

what did you paint it with? that looks awesome, I may have to try replicating that myself. I really like the look it gave it!

 

I tried soft modding mine with some random xbox controller male to usb female converter that I got on Amazon and it didn't detect my USB drive Anyway, the only real mod that I did to my 1.4 Xbox is making it tooless somewhat. The board is screwed down but everything else is w/o screws.
