SNES Classic Coming Sep 29th, Includes 2 Controllers & 21 Games--Including the Unreleased Star Fox 2

Just got the rom. I'll need to update my repro.

 

So, who got one? I didn't, and I was at the first shop not ten minutes after it opened, and at a Gamestop five minutes later. Neither had any left (but there were people already putting in reserves for multiple systems for the next shipment - fucking scalpers). No real lines either, so either clerks at both stores rang up stuff lightning fast (assuming there were lines in the first place, which, not being in the US, I didn't expect), or didn't have a lot of stock to begin with.
Can't even begin to imagine what those interested in the NES mini must've felt like back then.

Now, let's see who's faster, me doing a SF2 repro or Ninty getting their supply chain shit together.

 

That was fast! Now to see how people fair.

 

My facebook is blowing up with people lined up for one.

I'll just load this on my Raspberry Pi with Lakka :3 I have an Retro USB SNES converter, assuming Lakka's SNES Emulators are good I won't know the difference :3

 

I managed to get two! Well, my girlfrend and I got one each.
Will keep one and give one at Christmas!

 

Bro can you send me the rom? I've been waiting to buy the tsop for my cart using your board until this rom got out. It currently doesn't appear to be out in the wild.

Well that's good news that the ROM was easily extracted. Can't wait to have a chance to try it out. I hope people take the time to compare differences between the older ROM and this one.

 

So one is gonna just sit and collect dust for three months instead of bringing fun and joy to whoever else might've bought it (assuming no scalper)?

 

For now, but then it'll bring joy to someone close to me who thinks it's impossible to get. So I'll gladly sacrifice the hypothetical profit I could've made reselling, and the wait is part of the surprise.

Also, if I didn't buy it, there's 90% chance it'd have been bought by a scalper.

Figured.. fuck it, import a Super Famicom Mini because it looks a lot better than the American SNES. Signed up on 4 different websites for pre-order availability notifications at the start of the month. Then I saw this

Meenwhile I stayed home and played Gundam Wing Endless Duel on real hardware through my Framemiester..

Not interested in the system itself - Wii + 32" BVM makes much better SNES emulation than that thing + HDMI and LCD TV but controllers will be nice - no need for additional Mayflash adapter to play games with SNES pad. But well, since it got hacked it can be useful too - at least it will be possible to put Chrono Trigger there. My friend pre-oredered 3, we'll see if it will work or it will be NES situation again - thousands of scalpers buying everything.

 

I just checked the time it was released online and bought it with my free (for 6 months) Amazon Prime account. Was pleasantly surprised that they were still available 15 min after the release time.

 

im interested in the japanese version or even the pal version as i hate the look of the us version

 

I just want to know where all these people lining up were while their Super Nintendos and carts were collecting dust.

 

So you would sell an original SNES with 2 controllers and all the original carts for the games that Classic has for $80? Good deal.

 

A lot of the people are just looking to try to flip it to make money.

 

At least half. I would buy one at $50 as a curiosity, like the nes mini, but I'm not going to fight people over a crappy electronic, or pay a reseller the same amount of money for a next generation console.

 

I hope supply ends up meeting demand soon and these fuckers get stuck with a bunch of extra consoles.
