Unless you've seen the ROM leaked, it's still going to be awhile.

I was hoping for the highly animated map screen from the CES build too. I do like the new title screen though.

Definitely a proper final build. Here's just the StarFox 2 footage from the same account:

So do you guys think, that this is the last build that was meant to go into mass production?
Or did Nintendo do some changes to it during the development of the SNES Classic?

Some people claim it's a rom hack of a rom hack that Nintendo did. They didn't cite any sources though.

That depends on who gets it, and if Nintendo did anything different compared to the NES Classic to prevent file system extraction. Obviously we're all hoping they didn't do anything like that and that it does show up fast.

As for it being some sort of ROM hack, that will be easier to tell once the ROM file is in hand and compared to what we have now. Although some things could be discovered just by trying to observe differences. I guess we're still about a month out before any hope of seeing much unless someone gets a unit early.

Well nintendolife got a snes mini to play with and they pointed out a couple of differences. Says he can't show more due to embargo.

I wonder what he ran into that he couldn't show? Also in the boss room he goes in I don't remember the top of the ships core spinning in the leaked version.

A coin, maybe? It's probably nothing big, after seeing how he already made a huge deal about not showing the Starfox 2 cover while demoing the interface in a video only a few hours earlier.

I also don't recall the top part spinning.

And I agree with RSO, I doubt whatever he blurred out was really that big of a deal. He's probably just paranoid about Nintendo getting pissed at him.

Eh, even if my news feeds were to be full of Star Fox 2 ROM links by tomorrow morning the SF2 ROM is now in the wild - I'll still (try to) buy one.

The possibility to turn the unit into a NES mini, and vice versa (or maybe even eventually integrate both systems into a single UI?) is also a nice bonus.

Now, will I be able to buy this in Canada before Christmas? At retail price? That's the real mystery.

AND Star Fox 2 has already been dumped
Congrats to everyone who wasted $80

It's funny the SNES and NES Mini inspired me to get an AVS and Super Famicom Respectivly....and I probably have spent more money on those, plus a Framemiester than I would have if I just got an NES and SNES Mini from a Scalper.

There really is something special about playing on Real Hardware or even simulated Hardware (See: AVS) Over Emulation. I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from throwing out all my old games because they were "Worthless at resale"

that was before the Retro Boom.
