Disney will make every movie have a happy ending.

You didn't see Tron Legacy did you? I wouldn't call that a Happy ending.

Well, Star Wars had a happy ending. Not a Disney happy ending, but a relatively happy ending. (that sounds more sexual than I intended)

Oh they finally hit puberty did they? It's very rare for a sad/kinda happy ending to happen.

I know what you mean, and that's exactly what I'm getting at. Usually Disney have the same type of happy ending on nearly all movies I've seen.

Just the one movie... The ratio of overly happy endings as to sad endings are VERY different.

As long as VII-IX doesn't totally fuck over those of us who've been reading the novels for the last 21 years for post ROTJ story.
This shouldn't be a terrible thing.

Good, because everything Lucas has done in over a decade has been complete shit. However, episode VII seems pretty unnecessary to me, that story was already pretty well wrapped up.

What? That seemed like a pretty damn happy ending to me, except a parent "died", which usually happens in Disney movies anyway. Saying that Disney will make every movie have a happy ending is stupid though: Pulp Fiction (just as an example) was released by a Disney-owned company.

When Episode I was released George Lucas announced he had plans for VII-IX but he wouldn't release them. I guess Disney is doing it for him. Oh and the last trilogy wasn't goping to feature but reference the original cast, so the fact they areold or dead doesn't change much there.

This isn't great news by any stretch of the imagination. The only person who really benefits form this is George Lucas as he gets to see his story released in full, he gets a fat cheque to piss up the wall in his lifetime and he gets to stay on with a job for more money. Disney also gets to whore out the Star Wars franchise until it is nothing but an empty husk. Look at how many Marvel films appeared since the acquisition and how many of them sucked. Both Captain AMerica and Thor were subpar and The Avengers Assemble was interesting but average at best.

Anyhow at least George Lucas is closer to croaking now so there won't be any more alterations to his films, at least not by him, but I do understand why he would continue to edit things but even before the Disney sale there were BS problems with the Star Wars Franchise. They released Star Wars on Bluray. Then announced it would be rereleased next year on Bluray 3D. I didn't bother buying the 2D version... iof I am going to buy the franchise in HD I'm going to buy it once and once only, in which case I may as well get the 3D version.

Still Disney isn't all bad. They owned Miramax and distributed the works of Kevin Smith... Clerks FTW! Even the slightly normal Jersey Girl was good too. They also gave us Ben Allect and Matt Damon doh but at least Dogma and Good Will Hunting were cool.

Fine I'll reword it. I find the majority of Disney movies end with happy endings, maybe it's just the ones I've seen hah.

I just want no disney crap in my starwars. Tron was nice, dont believe dad is dead, but hey, I always end up fantasizing more story around movies. At least we see some new starwars, we maybe can destroy disney, maybe we can fall in love again. I donno.

I really don't see the connection, there have been about as many Marvel movies coming out as there were in the 2000s before they were bought out by Disney. And quality-wise, no matter what you think of the new Marvel movies (which I've personally enjoyed except for Thor), they compare pretty damn favorably to crap like Fantastic Four or X-Men 3.

I wonder how much they paid for 'Howard the Duck'.... and 'Slipstream'? Or did he throw them in for free? ;)

One doesn't automatically become a Disney Princess :p There is a whole process behind it in making it official

Leia has too strong a moral character to be a Disney princess.

Well I have decided, I am canceling the 8th annual Kung Fu Halloween and watching the Despecialized Edition of Empire strikes back and return of the Jedi.
