Itagaki quits and sues Tecmo http://kotaku.com/5012535/itagaki-leaving-tecmo-suing-tecmo Am I the only person who saw this coming? I always viewed him as a egotistical, and seemingly perverted, game designer who'd likely throw a fit if he didn't get his way, but now he's taken it too far. In this case though, I wouldn't say that he asked for it this time.
He does seem a bit arrogant. I haven't played anything after DOA 2 on the DC. Not sure I would try anyway - my girlfriend doesn't exactly like the 'look' of the game! Have you seen those Kasumi figures? (I want one)
Artists are always picky. He'll have his own design house in under a month. However, badmouthing your employer in Japan is a big no-no...
And that's the problem. Japanese say shit so the guys at the top can get away with what ever they like. Good on him for slagging the guy at the top. Yakumo
So he's suing for 148 million yen (just over a cool million dollars, right)...so how many leather pants will that buy him? Seriously, it's one thing to have an ego, but to at least be able to partially back it up is another. Refusing and agreed upon contract stipulation (bonus) where said stipulations are met is a no-no in any business. This will be fun to watch.
Masterchief drops from the space craft at the end of Halo 3 (anyone who hasn't completed it and complains of the spoiler, shame on you for being rubbish) and gets captured by a space ship of amazon women with unfeasablely sized breasts.
Alot of Japanese fashion is really focused on creating vintage american clothing. Its pretty weird but there is loads of very nice quality items and brands that just focus on it.
So he may be badmouthing his employer, but as a plaintiff in a case, it's necessary to air grievances, isn't it? At any rate, assuming the Tokyo District Court is fair (cue background snickering), it should be pretty easy and straightforward to prove in court that they had a written contract, show that he wasn't paid his bonus as stipulated, and ask for a ruling. If that's what was agreed on in his contract, I hope he gets paid, regardless of whether he comes off as a musty douchebag.
Is there any country where it's not? Sign me up for residency there. There are two sides to every story. Since the word "bonus" is used here, until something very clear in a contract that says payment is compulsory, then he should expect to get dick, and be thankful in the event he does get something. As an employee that was laid off on Xmas Eve and given 1/3 the bonus I received the year before (despite the fact the business made 3x as much as the year before), I have no sympathy for the guy. His games suck anyway. The company that fucked me was Bank of America (Japan), btw. So, if you need a reason not to bank with them, there's one (of many).
Personaly I am currious what Tecmo will do. I'm tired of his games but sadly it seems to be the only big thing going for Tecmo in recent years. So is a posible buyout of Tecmo immenent?
True. Our Culture is so emeshed in the rest of the world my statement has an odd merit to it. Anyways with him gone does that mean that DOA will FINALLY get topless costumes that we all wanted?
