SFZ2 is just so perfect, you can't help but love it. The controls are tight, the animation is smooth, it's one of the more perfect fighting games out there. Granted, SFZ3 is really good as well, especially with its huge character roster, but I always found something lacking that I could never put my finger on. Plus, the Saturn version of Street Fighter Zero 2 won't cost you the arm and leg that Street Fighter Zero 3 does.
Indeed, well, you should just get them both ;-) Oh and get a Netlink with a few games, so that when I win the lottery we can have a few direct-dial games of coop Duke Nukem 3D ;-)
How much is Street Fighter Alpha 2 with the case and manual? My friend has that and Knights sitting in his room with a Saturn that never has been touched...I already got the 3D controller from him, and could get Knights and SFA2 from him for probably 10$, but the thing is, it's only the CD's....is it worth it or should I just look for them with the stuff?
$10 is alright, Nights can probably be had boxed for somewhat less but with SFA2 it's worth $10 easily (hey, it's about what it's worth TO YOU, right ;-) ) They are like, the best games in the universe, and stuff.
on ebay alpha 2 goes for about $12 to 20 on average, its a worthy pic, same with nights though it can be found as low as $8 with controller or by istelf, its the easist saturn us saturn title to find compared to the real easy other titles to find which are sports games or any of the games in the sega 3 pack release with model 2 saturn.
nah! get zero 2 instead. should be dirt cheap... at least that way you don't have to deal with idiotic US case - JP games come in standard CD jewel case...
well i got the us version since i prefer the english and such, i mean i know its not neccsary to have a fighting game in english to enjoy it,but i do like to read the endings, but even then its up to you really, i would just get the U.S. version since its pretty easy to find and you can get it pretty cheap if you can find it, as for the japanese release, might be cheaper, but if its from japan, with shipping you end up paying as much as the us version. Now for fighting vipers and fighters mega mix id definetly reccomend the japanese versions as they are ALOT cheaper then their us counterparts (ie as low as $2 for each depedning one where you get it) plus japanese version of mega mix has an extra secret and the japansese version of fighting vipers has pepsiman.
Sega Rally and Virtua Cop (1or2) are enough to keep any man happy. You will not be able to get bored I promise you. Also: Racing: Daytona Sega Rally Championship Manx TT Touring Car Championship (play it again... there is a good game under those graphics) Fighting: Virtua Fighter 2 Fighters Megamix Xmen - Children of the Atom (COTA) Guardian Heroes FPS: Duke Nukem 3D Exhumed Quake Other: Panzer Dragoon Panzer Dragoon Zwei Mass Destruction Saturn Bomberman Clockwork Knight 2
Holy crap, are you joking?? I am so getting that just for Pepsiman! As far as the US SFA2, there's an ungodly amount of sealed copies that keep turning up on eBay, most for around the $10-15 range before shipping. Here's one of them: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8205049203&category=62053&rd=1
Ooh....well the giant ass jewel case doesn't bug me, I have a shelf for Saturn games,...but to play the japanese games I'm gunna need some kind of converter to plug into the cart slot aren't I? (I've never messed with imports...but it looks like it's definetly worth it on Saturn) Oh, is Sonic Jam expensive? OH MAN DUDE PEPSIMAN! :smt023 That was on PSX too wasn't it?
Yes, you need a converter cartridge to play imports, like Action Replay... Some of them are "multi" and allow playing USA/Japan/Europe games and in addition they have 4 Meg Back-up Memory, Action Replay functions and 4 Meg Expand RAM for the games that need it like some Capcom, SNK etc games.
ok, so after making a big list and reading all of yakumo's reviews, i decided that i wont buy us games, they are just crap, horrible arwork, big and edited as yakumo said, so what are the ONLY games that you think i should get in us release that i wont be able to completetly enjoy without understanding? so far i have 4... the 3 panzer dragon and burning rangers, any other games that you think i should get the us release of?
Based on what i've read on Yakumos site though (not intending to offend) he seems to be the type of person who would say "stupid americans". He likes to generalize all american art and media as crap, while most all japanese stuff is gold. Once again, not trying to offend, its just thats how what he has said in the past has come accross to me. PDS is a definite (any rpg would be), so: Dragon Force Shining Force III Shining Wisdom Shining the Holy Ark Albert Odyssey Mr. Bones Nights: Into Dreams Chrismas Nights: Into Dreams I think that Nights came out earlier in Jpan then the US, and I know that they were improving the controls up untill some time after the game had been released (its aparent in the later release of Xmas Nights), so the US ver might be the way to go due to that. Mr. Bones is a game that I think would lose alot if you couldn't understand whats said. Dragon Force is almost completly language driven, and would be a worthless game to play in any language others then you can speak/read. Other then those I think the jap versions of all the games mentioned so far would be fine to get.
i know what you mean about yakumos us hatting xD, but i guess i agree with him, i like japanese box art better....thx for the recomendations
Actually, this was released in Europe, but never in the US. Anyway, it's a great shooter (and a perfect port of the F3 original) so by all means, get this (the japanese version, Layer Section seems to the be cheapest).
Umm.. what? It was indeed released in america by the late, not so great Acclaim. The best part about that game is it's easy to get under 10 dollars and it kicks ass. Anyways, I'd also reccomend snagging a couple of Astal. That's another good game that you should have much trouble finding for 10 dollars or less.
