The number of people in this thread who apparently didn't play Sonic Colors or especially Sonic Generations makes me very sad. BTW this game is basically Sonic Colors 2. They've even brought back the Wisps.
Sonic Generations was good, but probably the worst value for money of any game this gen, since in only a few hours you'll see everything the game has to offer. Some of the later levels are awfully designed too.

I don't think this is true at all in terms of the value you get. It wasn't a full priced game at launch (meaning 59.99) and was still one of the best games of this generation. It had plenty of side missions to do besides the main quest. Its not extremely long but none of the top sonic games are.
Those better be the 3DS version graphics... As for the game it looks far more like mario galaxy than xtreme, or even more like that space level from rouge in SA2 where you go from planet to planet.
This looks like Sonic Generations crossed with Mario Galaxy, which sounds like an awesome concept! This could be a really good game, provided it controls well (Sonic's speed might make Mario Galaxy-style gameplay difficult). Judging by the Mega Drive era art style, it looks like they're using Sonic Generations as their groundwork, i.e just Sonic, running fast, jumping and spinning with no stupid gimmicks.
This looks excellent, love the concept and I agree with everyone else who says they see similarities to Xtreme, but it has its differences too. Either way, looking forward to this.
The movement already seems a bit unrefined, specially that climb move. Also no fish-eye lenses, you can't have Xtreme without that
I like the look of some of his running animations, 1 screen capture seemed to show the super peel-out.
So the reviews are coming out for this... they seem to be mixed, but all I'm gathering from reading them is that this game doesn't hold your hand and the later levels are difficult. ... ... Seriously, have the fuckwads that review games these days never beaten a Sonic game? Pretty much every complaint I've read (aside from those against the power-ups, which I'm not particularly surprised by) could be a complaint leveled at the Genesis games. "The last few levels are hard and they have death traps." No, fucking really? Good Lord I hope they never have to endure Scrap Brain Zone, their fucking heads would explode.
No, and the worst thing is they imply that nobody ever has. Seriously that's pretty stupid, I could point out to any of my friends who like Sonic and who have beaten a lot of the 2D ones numerous times, me included. I've even finished a few of the Game Gear/Master System ones for christ's sake. Get a grip guys, it's not that hard. And this is the kind of people who give perfect scores to GTA V... Pssht.
