Well every nintendo fan I know thinks Wii Sports is awesome, Wii Play is the free game with your second Wiimote, and Nintendo fans seem to be into games with the Balance board, lots of games are going to support it. Snowboarding, that sort of thing. I for one welcome our new masters from Kyoto.
Then the Nintendo fanboys around where you live are nothing like the ones on teh internets or around me.
Brawl and Kart are there too, and those are not-so-casual games. What amazes me is that shit like Mario & Sonic at the Olympic is so close to MGS4. Gaming is really going to hell huh? like movies and music did years ago...
one can say real gaming died when ps2 based it's software in sequels & sequels, and tooooons of casual games. but hell yeah, let's see what happens, nintendo have been REALLY clever with the wii, but every person in this planet under the sun had to admit that nintendo never expected such a huge success. XBOX360 missed completely with the red ring of death thing and well, sony is still living of the name... what are consoles without war consoles?
Well, there are mores "casual" than in N64 ... (I mean the game style). Sequels ... all the consoles have sequels, MS has 3 halo's in only 2 gen, and cod is going to make the 5th chapter (4 in this generation !!!), nintendo have sequels and sequels too (without a number generally, but sequels at last).
I remember... like... man... awhile back, there was like, this company that kicked ass, and every gen they'd make entirely new IPs. I mean... sure, they had their mascot and a few IPs they'd keep up, but generally they'd just make new IPs every generation. And they were always 5 steps ahead of the industry in innovation and all that, with online gaming and to some extent even motion controls. And their systems hardly ever died. Man... whatever happened to that company?
That company is not Sega. Not the Sega I knew anyways. :-( That company, though, deserves to lose $500 million. And much much more.
Gosh people are buying Wii Sports even if it's a pack in game? As for Wii Play, the 4.5m sales figure is a bit skewed as a lot of people buy it as it may be the only way they can buy a second controller (and I am sure there are people with 2 or 3 copies of Wii Play for that reason...). Wii Fit is probably being bought by the casual gamers that probably only have Wii Sports. So all in all Wii owners are buying Mario Kart or Super Smash Bros.. gosh hardcore spending there. Love the way that people say Sega made a $500m dollar loss, rather then Sega Sammy made a $500m dollar loss, you might notice if you bother reading that Sega software division made a profit...
Jamtex , stop being such a dick to the Wii. Most VC titles on the Wii are for hardcore folks, even I can't beat many of them despite being an old hog!
That maybe so but I still own most of them as originals and I wouldn't rebuy them just so I could run them on another console.
The Wii is almost an accident IMO, Nintendo obviously saw that HW-wise this gen was a suicide, since even the last gen winner, Sony, was burning copious amounts of money to fuel the PS3 launch. What Nintendo learned lastgen with the GC is that only hardcore gamers and technuts care about how powerful a console is, and that what most people want is a cheap console thats easy to use. The GC sold more units when it became dirt cheap, and the DC not only sold like bagels when it was cut to $99 (and then $50) but people didnt cared that SEGA had cancelled it. The reason for the $250 MSRP is that they wanted to recoup any costs as fast as possible, since Nintendo didnt expected that it would be so successful. That would also explain why production was so low. Nobody gave a crap about it, but after they were gone forever, plain and simple...
Assuming you have Room for them all......which you don't since nintendo thinks everybody that wants storage for them are losers http://kotaku.com/5015733/only-geeks-and-otaku-want-more-wii-memory-space
You d have to be daft to use the VC for stuff you can use a modded XBOX or a PC to run the games on, so only a few are really worth having on the console itself
You'd have to be daft to use an XBOX or PC, when you can simply exploit your Wii and emulate everything on that, with the option of using a real SNES control pad.
Well, I know at least one person who's corrupted their Wii system memory by injecting ROMs in. Be careful out there kids. Screw your xbox you can just buy another one for $30. Also you can have a 250GB HDD for all your roms. You can of course use real SNES pads on a PC mister, usb adaptor. I like the original SNES carts. Gone off emulators. Don't get the warm fuzzy feeling with an emulator. I don't really want 3,000 SNEs games anymore, how would I ever find the time to finish them all!
