Stupid sony bullshit that makes me rage

Ever want someone to ship over a pallet of cheap, American PSPs....

I vaguely recall hearing about the newer PSP being able to output to a TV (hurray! A portable to a TV. Something doesn't seem right here...) and thinking that was a cool idea in the same vein of the Nomad doing that as well. Though the Nomad ate batteries like Pac-Man pellets.

No idea that you could use a PS3 controller on a PSP though. Might have to pick up a PSP but I'm so far behind in the knowledge department I don't have a clue which model is worth a damn and has CFW.

i was wondering when this was gonna come given a few months ago it was announced that blu-ray players will no longer send HD content over analog
what the movie industry calls closing the analog loop hole

i just thought it would be through a update that sony would close the loop hole but looks like on the older consoles you might be able to have HDMI and the sony AV outputting video at the same time

because if it couldn't then the PS3 would be able to tell when the sony AV was connected and downgrade the picture quality

 

I wonder who will takes sony's place when the Vita and PS4 (if there even is one) bombs?

why would that be a bad thing? i get 720P channels over RF on my HD tv hooked to normal cable hell i even get one or 2 1080i channels

 

Because no console ever made to my knowledge comes with a digital TV high def modulation converter unit on the multi-out (or RF) socket.

thanks for your post, I was going to buy a psp go this week and one of the main features I wanted on it was to play in my tv.

I would like to know if even a unlocked psp with a hacked firmware would still need do all this shit to work.

 

Well we all know the movie industry are idiots with the right technical knowledge you can make anything output out of anything.

 

It seems to me, that if I should buy a blue ray player. Then I should buy one that still has backwards compatibility with NON HDMI input/output. Cause there is no way in fucking hell, I am going to shell out money for a HD TV.

 

you can buy a 22 inch 1080p visio tv for 240

hell you can get a 720p tv for less then 150 at 20+ inches

analog component outputs HD ive never known a CRT tv to support HD
also HD tvs support all the way back to RF


your rights dont go anywhere by upgrading to a modern tv
just dont buy a PS3 or bluray player beyond 2010

 

Even then you can hack the blu ray player to by pass it or get one that already has been

 

yep there will always be workaround or hacks to output analog
unless the remove all the analog components from the bored completely

then you would just have to tap into the GPU on the blu-ray player
and build a simple circuit and boom back to analog viewing pleasure

I have a feeling World War III will be between the Entertainment Industry and consumers.

 

Surely they must realise their losing europeans still on SD sets with RGB-Scart, I can get them not wanting users to play in shitty RF and Composite but not everybody can afford a HD TV + PS3 to use HDMI or Component.

 

Well, it says you couldn't output HD graphics via analog, which means you could still use RGB SCART, which can't do HD anyway (but you couldn't use component cables for HD, since that's an analog connection).

Yep, that pretty much sums up the PSP in general
