Bboydocument i think that dsp1 can me implemented in fpga, but it will be expensive fpga, also need a tonns of time for develop it.
i don't know where bunnyboy get dsp for powerpacks, but i assured that it is original dsp chips.
you should not worry about dsp games extinction. how many games produced? millions! how many carts i can sold? just hundreds

edit: for me very hard to kill donor carts, some of them with box and manual and looks just like brand new. sad...

I was pretty bummed when I first saw this thread. I had been holding out for a while, but on Sunday, I finally ordered a Super Everdrive. Then, in the same week, the board gets an upgrade . . .

Seeing the list of games that use the DSP-1 chip, though, it doesn't look like I'm missing out on much. I own Pilotwings, and I can do without Mario Kart (I have Mario Kart 64). Unless any of the Japanese games listed are phenomenal, and there happens to be a translation patch for them, I think I'm okay with not having the ability to add the chip.

also you need some aditional logic for dsp registers address decoding and clock generator, same as on original board. i think that most easy way for you that is use peace of board from dsp cart with dsp, 74hcu04 and 74ls139

    hello guys'

... Damned i 've just wake up too late this morning ! all boards are already gone !
Is there any chance to see Super everdrive + DSP1 on EU cart soon ?

I hope to see a Super everdrive +USB+DSP1 on EU cart one day, sooner the better.
at least a Super everdrive +USB with a little shematic for soldering it by ourselves.

anyway I wish to thank you greatly for supporting your product like this!
    It's really enjoyable.

Nicolas from France, who hope to be able to get one the next time !

KRIKzz, please tell us with the old super everdrive how exactly to connect the dsp1 chip. we will connect all the chips to the everdrive, will use wires and glue everything. i think this is what Assembler's question was.

US DSP carts sold out again, making any more?

    Krikzz,
Just checking if any more will be made. I would MUCH RATHER get that version, but if you are not making anymore I want to get in on the group buy that ends on the 18th. Please let me know. If there will be more US+dsp carts, I will go that route.

Thanks a lot for this wonderful device,

    npt

This is what our pricing will look like:

Super EverDrive (Board Only) - $84.99 [No DSP-1 chip installed, but board will have ability to be upgraded if the buyer chooses to do it themselves]
Super EverDrive Deluxe (North American) - $119.99 [No DSP-1 chip installed]
Super EverDrive Deluxe (SFC/European) - $129.99 [No DSP-1 chip installed]
    Super EverDrive Deluxe+ (North American) - $139.99 [DSP-1 chip pre-installed]
    Super EverDrive Deluxe+ (SFC/European) - $144.99 [DSP-1 chip pre-installed]

One bonus we may offer is if you order a Super EverDrive Deluxe+ and send us a DSP-1 game cart back we will give you a gift certificate to our store. We haven't decided on this yet and what limitations and value will be. We are thinking $15 or $20.

Before you spend the money on USB, you may want to ask yourself why you need it?

Unless you plan on developing SNES games it does not really give you any advantage over non-USB. A lot of people have the misconception that you can upgrade firmware through USB and this is simply not the case.

Yeah I understand that USB is mostly just useful for snes development. I have this weird thing where I like to get the most complete tools (especially when it comes to consoles) Even if there is only slight chance that I will use the extra feature I'm paying for.

He said : "Can you make an upgrade board that people can solder into everdrive ?"

I think he means something like a board where you just solder a few wires (8 data lines, few address lines and control signals) to an older everdrive for upgrading it.
