That movie is among my guilty pleasure list. I'm curious, does it have clips from the Commodore 64 game like the DVD release?
I'm afraid not. It does have some really cool unseen footage taken from original Betamax tapes though. Loads of stuff like that plus interviews, makings, music video (which is awful) and trailers but no game footage.
Asked my brother's girlfriend to buy me Generation Kill Blu Ray since she was going to buy some stuff on Miami. She bought the DVD version :grief:
Something similar happened to me: I was looking to buy Evangelion 1.11 Blu-ray. Looking through eBay, I see a Limited Edition, with a Blu-ray sticker on it. I immediately buy it. Two weeks later, I receive the item and it turns out to be the LE DVD... and the sticker simply said "Also available on Blu-ray". First thing I did was check the item description: everything was correct... turns out I just didn't read carefully before buying... I still haven't had time to check if the Blu-ray has all the stuff included in the LE DVD... if it doesn't then I'll keep the LE DVD and buy the Blu-ray later on.
The problem is i can't return it or get my money back. Will have to try selling it, so i can get at least some of my money back.
I have the 25th Anniversary DVD with animated cover. That’s a great DVD if you don't already have it. Comes on 2 discs and has some very cool extras although the Japanese Transformers show is a letdown because these two idiots from the Transformers club are talking over the whole show and you can't switch them off! I want the original Japanese audio. I'd only buy the BluRay if they fixed this issue and added even more cut scenes or extras but I doubt they will.
You mean the 20th anniversary one? I don't think there was a new release for the 25th. You're not missing out on much since Scramble City is pretty worthless. I think it might be an extra on the DVDs of one of the Japanese G1 shows anyway. Well, the only reason I'd want a BR is because of the image quality...
Did anyone buy the new Shoah-release by Criterion on BluRay? http://www.amazon.ca/Criterion-Coll...?ie=UTF8&qid=1375389335&sr=8-1&keywords=Shoah Obviously this documentary doesn't exactly live off the picture quality, but what's the boxset like? Is the bonus material worth the purchase if you already own the documentary on DVD?
Yeah, sorry. I made a mistake about the age. Animation on DVD (when encoded well like Transformers the Movie) played through my BluRay player actually looks stunning. The player does a very good job at upscaling the image so I don't think I'll bother with the Bluray. Live action from DVD doesn't look anywhere near as good though. Probably too much detail.
I hope they'll release a nice blu-ray box for Eva when all the movies are done! (and actually I'm not watching them till it's that time XD ) Not so long ago I got the Fafner in the Azure blu-ray box. Cool serie, very nice video quality, but kinda disappointed there wasn't a 5.1 audio track. Pondering on getting Twelve Kingdoms some time...
I'm looking forward to getting Sailor Moon, Eva 3.3 and Castle of Colgirostro (I botched that I know) On blu ray. I hardly buy blu rays any more, last thing I got was Princess Bride, Son of Batman (which is AWESOME) and Radiers of the lost Ark. All the old anime I want is on DVD. Short of importing from Hong Kong all the Kung fu Movies I used to have on DVD aren't on Blu ray in the states yet.
That's nothing I had to import marcross plus from Japan it's not out on blue ray in the uk no thanks to harmony gold.
DEATH TO HARMONY GOLD! I can't wait for the Force Awakens Blu Ray. Now that I have a really nice TV, I can really enjoy movies now.
