here so far everything ok. but wifey and kid are up in saitama, couldnt reach them yet since all phones are down.

i was in the train just arrived at shinyokohama when it started. I jumped out the train and hidded under a reinforced post till the shakin was over. some small concret parts came down from the roof.

just walked 10km back to my home. electricity and gas are ok.

hope everyone else are fine as well.

We didn't really feel it here in Kyoto - the first I heard about it was when people from home (the UK) phoned me asking if I was alright!

Looking at the coverage on the TV though, it looks like it was pretty damn big, especially if it's having such an impact as far away as Tokyo.

I don't know many people in that region of Japan, but I hope for people here who do that everything is fine.

I'm never going to chat someone and say, "ah, another Earthquake... " and underestimate it again. That one started really weak. That's what freaked me out. Then, 10 minutes later w/ the nuclear siren going off and another after shock hitting didn't help.... then rain clouds & helicopters everywhere was strange.

My heart goes out to the poor suckers who have thought I was an idiot to cycling to work all winter.

I think all of us have checked in. I hope that those of you trying to get in touch with family and friends in the main areas have luck and that nothing bad as happened to them.

Magic Knight (who has given up forums I think) lives in Miyage. :/ I'll try to buzz him. Eric should be safe as a kitten, as he's down south.
