Like others, hope everyone's safe and sound. Been watching this on BBC News 24 and it's just staggering.

The friend I am worried about the most lives in Kuji, Iwate Prefecture. I have been trying to call him with no luck. Kuji is between Hachinohe and Kamaishi, and both of those cities were hit hard by the tsunami. I just got a message from his dad asking all of his friends to keep trying.

When I heard about the earthquake , then I immediately thought about all the Japanese members. So it is good to see most of you are fine.

Damn, not the greatest thing to wake up to hearing about in the morning. Glad most of you guys are safe, when I read it was in the north the first person I worried about was martin. So martin, what do you think of earthquakes now after that one earlier in the week. =)

For those still trying to get through to family/friends, I hope you find some luck soon!

Glad to read it seems you're all okay. My other friends were out of the area, which is good news as well.

Yeah, this beats it! Largest in Japan's recorded history. Crazy.

The headline you won't be reading: "Millions saved in Japan by good engineering and government building codes". Buts it's the truth.

Watching the coverage on BBC News, the Tsunami wave looks like something out of the movies, truly shocking. Good to hear that you guys are ok.
