Just came across this thread now, would have loved to donate and maybe get a pressed copy but see the total has now been reached?

What about making a limited number of pressed copies, say 200 (Perhaps using scans of the original cover design from Yakumo if he agrees) and then sell them to members to help fund the site? That way people who missed out on donating can still get a nice pressed copy, and it helps fund the site

Its just a thought (Although perhaps theres some legal reason why this would not be possible?)

With all due respect to Yakumo, he doesn't physically have the original covers (there weren't any), he made his own.

Labels? What do you mean? I have the front and back covers but no spine but thats easy to make. Apart from that a Japanese DC cover doesn't have anything else unless you mean a disc label? I don't have one of those but it should't be hard to make one.

Why can't we send donations (to whatever cause) and receive a pressed copy of the game (with a set "donation price")?

Surely that makes sense. Leave it open for a month or something, and you'd make loads of money...??

    No brainer IMO.

Is he not saying "Yakumo doesn't own the official labels of Geist Force as made for the unreleased SEGA game"? Or do you? Are you labels official or prints of the official JPEG/Tiff?

I think I'm honestly in shock that the donations took off so fast for this, haha. If only people could put fourth this much effort for site donations.

Actually, I do have the covers. The back came from a good collector friend in France and the front came from ???? Can't remember where I got that. Both are sample covers. Japanese make sample covers before game release all the time. Many times the sample cover looks different from the final as well.

The front is just a single slip with a blank back while the back cover has the dreamcast logo printed on the reverse side and the stamp of a Hong Kong dealer. I will post scans when I get home. The person who sent me the back cover is a member here under the name of bomb98.

    =(

Yeah, that's not fair. A lot of people interested in such a wholeheartedly made version cauldn't even see the thread running.
Yes, of course this happens a lot with these kind of items (i.e. so many cool auctions lost in ebay) but... =(

Hey, my bad. The cover you posted here before looked a little rough so I assumed it was made from old internet content. No disrespect intended.

None taken. I'll be posting the ful covers scans here for everyone to use once the game is ready to go unless ASSEMbler already has covers for it. I don't think he does though.

Out of interest, what will happen to the original GD-R once it's been successfully dumped? I just assumed you'd sell it and put the money towards the site?

I obviously missed this. I'd be willing to donate some money on payday for an early torrent. I'm pretty poor at the moment but I can spare ~$10-15 if that means I don't have to wait months to play it.

Sorry to hear about what happened, LeGIt. You're a good guy and I hope that money makes its way back to you.

Edit: To be perfectly honest, I'd rather send the money directly to LeGIt than the site. No offense meant, but he probably needs it more than the site does at the moment and selling all your shit to buy a prototype is dedication.

I called this one a few threads over somewhere. The whole "fool me once, fool me twice" doctrine applies heavily to this community.

However it too would be nice if site donations went as quickly.

There's some support for the idea that LeGit should get it.

$25 donated via PayPal! This is unfortunately the most I can send tonight, but I'm hoping it's enough for a pressed copy. If not please let me know & I'll try to make up for the remainder!

I still don't understand how 2 versions of the game show up within a week after the first was packaged as if it were some sweets. Mental shit.

Selling it to the forums after it has been dumped would be the fairest thing, because people didn't have the chance to buy it. Would be nice when those people would get the chance now.

The money then can be taken for the site fundraiser or given to LeGit for his loss on the first Geist Force GD.
