Will people that originally missed out have a chance to get a press of this?
I was so sad when it was canceled :crying:

Quoted for Truth, especially as they can be purchased digitally printed etc in 100's, but may cost a fuckload :p

I think its fair to say a pressing may not even happen due to technical or legal issues but of course if they do get in the way, ASSEMbler will break his balls to overcome them, if it is at all possible to do so.

If he does get some pressed due to the economies of scale it may be possible for him to get more pressed for less, or even not much more than it could cost for a few so it is entirely possible those who did not donate this time around could have access to a pressed copy at a later date, for a fee of course :p

Regardless of wether or not the game gets pressed, those who did and didn't donate will all get get the ability to play the game sooner or later so long as this GD-R doesn't get fucked too :p

It would be fair to say let him receive the disc and dump it first and move on from there, any further speculation or complaining at the moment may amount to nothing. It is also futile asking if the GD-R has been sent or received yet - if there is any news it will be posted as and when it is available...

We need to take it one step at a time :)

Congrats for coming up with the money so quickly and coming up with more than the original fundraiser(s) too... :p

In the meantime, Im working on recreating the Geist Force logo, so I can make a decent quality US case if/when the game is dumped :p I've got it looking pretty good now, but its hard to say without any real high quality graphics to go behind it.

I'll be using DC direct DVD style cases, as I can't get the nice Japanese style dc cases.

Too bad I cant find any real, large concept art in decent enough quality to print, going to have to wait until the game actually is released to finish a cover...logo is working well enough so far though, still needs to be tweaked quite a bit though. (Purposely saved small, its a vector so it resizes with no issues :D)

[IMG]I was just messing about making a PAL version using the sample that Yakumo uploaded. Not a final obviously but its alright-ish

I really like the PAL design style, not a fan of the boxes though way too brittle :crying:

It's simple to convert between boxes, especially when templates are available for most of them. The hardest part is making anything of any sort of quality that looks like its fit for print. Yakumo's cover is great and all, but there is no denying that it's been scanned. So I've recreated the logo in a solid format that can be resized to any size without quality loss.

The background art is another story, as that is quite a bit harder to reproduce, something that I probably won't tackle, not yet anyway. I would rather pop the game into an emulator to run it at higher resolutions and grab a snapshot that could be modified to work rather than recreate the original artwork in its entirety. It won't be 100% faithful to the sample artwork, but at least it will still look high quality enough!

Yeah I am not going to go to tech until the game hopefully surfaces. I really need to get a Wacom I hate using photoshop on a track pad it kills me.

Its always possible to make a scanned image cleaner by deconstructing it by key components and replacing certain parts. Its very time consuming however so yes high rez images are much appreciated. I always find that fanmade image art can be too 'sharp' though due to a lack of finesse something that I also suffer from.

If you create a nice final logo (the one you have looks looks pretty sweet!) I will pinch one ha ha!

I just use a standard mouse, and although I am no where near the best, I can produce relatively acceptable results haha

Borman: your logo looks pretty good, but it's missing the blue glow from Yakumo's scan. Not too difficult of an effect to produce. I could do it, if necessary. I think you should also include the ガイストフォース part below it. I like your idea about using a hi-res image from an emulator.

On the other hand, if Yakumo's scan is high-res enough it might work.

EDIT: Now that I look again, I can see that there's a little bit of a glow in your logo, but it's not quite the same as the original.

Also, LeGIt: That would work, but I don't think it wouldn't look very good. It would need to be really big to take up that much space, and usually only titles and/or system names are that big.

The glow is being worked on, but its hard to say how much of an effect the colors below it effected the color of the glow, especially since im using a white background .its being worked on between assignments here though, which means what you see is just a quick version.

And btw, there are DVD cover templates for DC games. Ill show when im home

Would it be possible to somehow get a scan of this to use for the cover art?

I think I see what you're saying. Based on the part where it covers the brownish part of the ship, I'd say it's mostly white with a very faint blue tint towards the edges. There's an effect in Photoshop that will let you do exactly this, if I'm interpreting it correctly.

On the other hand, whether or not that's technically what's going on, it may not be the way it's meant to be perceived. The way it looks for the most part reminds me of the blue/white bullets in Ikaruga.

They're just normal CD cases with white inserts, ASSEMbler. I bought a shit load brand new from Yahoo Auctions a while back. 300 cases a set for about 3000 yen I think it was.

You guys are doing great work on the logo for the US and PAL covers. The blue glow is piss easy to do on Photoshop, just go in to the logo's properties and add a shadow, spread it, thin in out, add a little defusing and add the blue tint. a few minutes work at most.

Because people are putting in a lot of effort and ASSEMbler is going to release this as a DVD case and therefore won't be using the original covers, I'll put up the high resolution scan tonight when I get home. That should save people a few hours on the logo at least.

I think, as Yakumo said, they're just CD cases with white inserts. However, I seem to remember that standard CD cases have the "compact disc" logo on them whereas Japanese DC cases have an empty square where that logo would normally go. I'm willing to bet someone sells inserts like that, too.

I don't post as actively to the forums as some others, but speaking for myself I would Love to have the pressed disc inside a jewelcase with reproduction front and back inserts of the Sample case Yakumo has, rather than a DVD-style case.

But having said that, I'd love to just play the damn thing. :D
