I'm going to have to buy a Dreamcast here in Japan after-all, aren't I? (I say that as I have 5 in the UK and a shit load of imports).

So what exactly is different about the cases? Just the little blank square where the Compact Disc logo is? Or maybe the center hub? (I don't have any imports with the white tray, just black and clear).

I'd much rather have a CD-sized case even if it isn't 100% perfect. I think it'd be easier on everyone.

I'm sure you'll find a working one for 5-700 yen somewhere.

 

Just the area where the Compact Disc logo is. DC games have either nothing at all or a black square.

 

Hmm, mine have the logo - but that doesn't mean they haven't been replaced.

If you guys make a 45000LBA data/data backup it'll even boot on the latest rev2.1 Dreamcast with no problem.

I don't understand you, what do you want to help? The goal to reach the 700 dollar has already been reached after 3-4 hours and the game will be dumped if everything goes alright

 

Sorry man, i didn't know... i was just wanting to be a part of this project, i ever wanted to play this game and i know how much important is to preserve a game like this, but, i came too late :shrug:

Damn, really? Even in the junk shops? Maybe I'm thinking of loose systems with no accessories - in which case adding the appropriate cables and controller and VMU would push it pretty high.

Dreamcasts are now going up in price. 2000 yen upwads is the normal price for one these days unless it's broken and even then it's about 500 yen.

 

They're asking 4500 yen at a retro gaming store I know in Kyoto. Rather annoying, as I'd quite happily buy one. They're asking exactly the same for a Neo Geo CD, too.

 

Hard Off down here will do an unboxed unit with 1 controller, AV cable and power cable for 3800 yen.

 

Holy christ that's $55. When did Dreamcasts go up from the $20 they were not even 5-6 years ago? More importantly, WHY?

Putting aside inflation. The American dollar is worth less than the Canadian and Australian dollar these days.
