Yeah, I was pretty late to the party as well. The passion of a lot of people on here, however, is really inspiring. It was all over with in just a few hours.

I like the idea of selling discs as a way to fund the site. You would need a system disc 2 to load one though, right?

^On a Dreamcast? Even if the GDR isn't bootble on a Dreamcast as-is, I'd assume it should be trivial to make it bootable once ripped.

Do you need a System Disc 2 to boot Propellor Arena? Exactly! It was cracked for region free and MIL-CD.

The only thing you would have to worry about is having a Dreamcast that will load MIL-CD but only the last few produced had this support removed. Given as the Dreamcast spent 3+ years in mass production of MIL-CD compatible machines and mere moments without it, you will be hard pressed to find a DC that won't boot it.

    I speak the truth

Once the game is ready for release I'll pass this cover on to Kev if he wants to use it for the pressed copies otherwise I'll post it here in high quality 300dpi. Please remember that if it wasn't for my generous French collector friend we wouldn't have the cover art. Just got to find the back now. Where the hell did I put it?

I know you don't need a system disc to load a CD-R, but I thought specifically GD-Rs required a system disc 2, regardless of whether they're self-booting or not. We were talking about burning it on GD-Rs, right? Or some other format?

Is that official cover art, Yakumo?

I severely doubt Assembler is going to be burning off GDRs. That said, we better wait and see if the game is small enough to fit on a CDR...

If it comes to a situation where the game has to be downsampled (or even worse, ripped), I'd like to see a complete .gdi version available too at some point.

Its quite simple really. ASSEMbler said he is looking to press. GD-R's are burned not pressed... so no not GD-R. GD-ROM is obviously out of the question which leaves MIL-CD :p

I see. So why would you want to have it pressed on an MIL-CD? Durability? Coolness?

Also, I'm afraid your avatar is going to kill me.

edit; I got the exact same version, with the only exception being that 'my' version still has the sides in tact with the title name on it. I will share this, if needed.

    Pissflaps :crying:

Just seen this thread and like others who've come across it after funds have been raised would like to know if there's any chance of a retrospective donation facility that gives us late-comers the ability to get a copy of the pressed version. If so what would the guaranteeing amount be?

Mine has the sides too. I just cut them off from the scan.

If you want to share your covers with everyone then that's fine with me. I wasn't aware that anyone else hear had a copy of the cover.

I had two originals and sold one to Wombat years ago. I've got the promotional poster as well.

The red and white area to the left would have been the spin card, right?

I think everyone who's contributed to the site fund raiser as of a set date should get a pressed copy too.

At the end of the day, it seems that there's a lot of people who weren't around at the time who would have genuinely contributed towards the fund raiser. We shouldn't penalise people because it was 2:30am in their part of the world at the time and they were in bed!

Now that the disc is paid for, any further donations can go towards pressing a decent sized batch of CDs and getting some manuals and covers professionally printed. I don't know how many people have contributed in total, but an individually numbered run of, say, 100 - 200 discs should be feasible. There may also be some unseen costs or problems along the way which need paying for. Anything after that goes towards the site.

Yes, and no. That would be where the spine would fit however the text would be different. Spine cards don't feature text in that style.

When I get around to making the covers I'll have the front as standard CD size so that spine section will be removed. The side sections will also be removed because they should be on the back cover which they will be  All that needs to be made is the spine card and a disc image howeverthat shouldn't be needed if ASSEMblers screen print idea goes in to action.

    Looks lovely, Yakumo.

    @la-li-lu-le-lo
I believe we'd press to MIL-CD because that's the only format we can do these days, and make it feel as "official" (and not in a piracy way, of course - just hobbyist) as possible (having proper screen printed disc labels, and a silver bottom instead of an ugly blue/green CD-R tint).
