Yay! Now you can pay too much for Game Boy and Game Gear Titles. Seriously, if you wanted to play those games so much, I could have hooked you up for about $10 and you would have saved $240. Think how many used GB and GG titles that would buy... Sorry, I'm being a little mean;-)
Tried the store out this morning and got my free Excitebike. The 3D effect is kind of neat but after 5 mins I was done with it (it's excitebike). I don't think I will pick up the other 3D remake. I hope they do a more substantial game next. The store it self is not great, it's a huge step up over the DSi store but is still a total mess. I almost got excited for a second thinking they added that you could download 3DS titles but then I just realized it was just listing the retail price (damn I would have bought RE today if that was true). I do plan to load up my 3DS with some $$ today and maybe grab Phantasm, Kirby 2 GB & that stone game. Probably won't grab anything else until something crazy comes out for it. Phantasm seems like the only worth wild purchase since a few weeks ago I saw a loose cart on yahoo go for well above 4,500 Yen. http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/06/07/hyu_stone/ For 5,000-6,000 Yen on yahoo you can end up with a lot of 100GB games. =P Sure you'll end up with multiple copies of Poke-mans but still a sizable lot of good games. I've gotten two of them off yahoo just recently. =D

I got the update last night too, and the free excitebike. It's boring as fuck. But it looks nice and brings nostalgia from when I was a kid and this came in every multicart. While Excitebike itself is boring, it does make me want further 8 and 16 bit titles in 3D. Even first generation games. The internet browser is shamefully slow, though. I checked my mail and my facebook on it, and tried to navigate other sites. SO, so hard to navigate. What's pretty cool is that it tells me the prices of stuff in my local currency, which lets me see how expensive something is. Not bad for games that are hard to come by over here anyhow.
A bit since it's a nintendo game and DK is worth 400Yen but it's not the first. Baseball (GB) that came out today was also 300Yen.
I got eshop, I don't see the browser though. I'll have to play with it again. I don't understand all the 3DS hate. The thing just came out, it's got a pretty decent game lineup...give it some time. Nintendo isn't going to let it die. As for price drops...maybe. I'd think perhaps $200 when the Vita comes out, not lower. It costs them nothing to build the things. I wouldn't care if they dropped the price, having it at launch was worth it to me.
In terms of price drops, Nintendo really doesn't have to. Mario Kart 3D and Super Mario 3D out before the holiday? Please. Sony will be lucky if the entire Vita launch sells as well as Mario Kart.
I really don't like motorcycles, man. That being said, I played Excitebike a whole lot back in the day, and still I find it a bit bland. More like... frustrating, in certain issues, I guess. The new version looks very, very nice, though.
Just incase anyone thinks I'm a Nintendo hater, I'm very excited for the 3DS stuff they've been showing at E3. 'Specially Luigi 2.
Hey, Has anybody picked up any GB games from the 3DS eShop? If so, are you playing them in B&W or Spanish-Green? I seem to find my self switching between the two depending on the game like Phantasm I use B&W since the tile detail works better that way yet Kirby i'm using Green because it feels better (like playing sf2 in 15khz) and the added ghosting effect that the green filter does on purpose makes it feel more like playing on an old GB. Just kind of sad we can't customize the controls. I would sort of get that it makes B & A align up properly but they go and bind select to both select & Y. (This is great for phantasm but worthless for others).
I Think several old games are very expensive ! Like the zelda'price is 6 € !!! For a very old is too expensive !
Lucky bastard and your Japanese 3DS. In the U.S. we only got 3 games (well, 4 now with Zelda) and none of them were Kirby or Mega Man! OH:

^^ Yeah, this is really what I want to use the eShop for. If I want to play old GB games, I'll put my GB Light in my backpack and play them like the Almighty intended. I just want to try Steel Diver, Dream Trigger, and some other titles that probably aren't ever going to be a store demo. Every store demo seems to be SFIV.
I sucked at Excitebike when I was a kid, it seems. That mechanic between A and B button, and calculating the correct jump is, indeed, fun. I'm still not a huge fan of it, but I suck less at this version than I did at the original. Still, I hope for more 3D Remakes as soon as possible. Not that it matters, as the damn system wouldn't take any of my cards to add funds...
