One of the main areas to check would be the mafia cutscene in the prehistoric/whatever level(it's been a long time since playing this game =p). There's a scene that was cut in the final where they beat up Pikachu. I'm assuming it might be in here.

And thanks Bram, Ill take a look. The more information the better. I doubt it'll be there, but who knows

The debug build isn't all uncensored, Ive been told the ECTS build has more though (although Im still finding censored words, so I dont know what to think). Just found a censored word in the debug version so

The best place to check for word censorship would be the "It's war" chapter. First scene. The sergeant there says a bunch of censored words. Best example would be "Oh, uh... $#@& THAT SHIT!". I think we all know what words is missing...

Well, I know I said I'd donate earlier, but I'll probably wait it out until this has become an official thing, since Borman sounds like he was still working out obtaining them.

Though the video and him obviously having the ROMs already tells me it's as good as done.

Edit: Oh speak of the devil =p

    What you are getting :
*PAL Beta of Perfect Dark (Two days before final build - C-Up and C-Down to enable MCM, less options than NTSC)
*NTSC Beta of Perfect Dark (March 22nd 2000 build - C-Up and C-Down to enable MCM, a couple of more options than PAL)
*Conker's Bad Fur Day "Debug" (October 25th, 2000 build - Hold all C buttons on start to cause an interrupt and the debug menu. Doing so later crashes the game, but it may work on real hardware)
*Conker's BFD ECTS Demo Build (Made for a trade show, lots of differences, lots of crashes. Hit start to skip the intro cutscene or itll crash)

Edit: And just like that, we are up to 350$ out of 2500$

You gonna update your NintendoAge thread btw? At least there you can edit topic titles without the help of mods, so it should hopefully get more attention.

Hey Borman, I was thinking on my loaning of my ED64 if Bad_Ad84 gets it fixed. I'll gladly donate it for the cause since I'd rather have a 64 Drive. Cost me $140 when I got it with USB port, NTSC CIC, and USA shell. Can't make any promises yet since I'm still waiting for word on the replacement part.

If interested you can have it as a donation towards this fundraiser to save you the money of buying one.

Id be okay with that if it comes down to it, so long as its all working it'll help on some future projects.

Are there any other chapters in the "uncut" build besides Hungover, Heist, and It's War? Here's the full list for reference.

Hello borman. I was wondering if you could show a video with some of the debug functions(Conker) in action, if possible.

Edit: It might brew the interest of people on the Rare Witch Project Forums(http://www.therwp.com/forums/) , if they allow stuff like this to be posted. I'm sure word will spread at any rate. Would donate for the cause but I am unemployed atm, If I get any spare cash I'll throw some your way.

Ill be showing it off later hopefully. Right now, all Ive found is the interrupt function. This is definitely one of those times I wish I had the retail hardware available, as Id imagine it works better on it than it does on the emulator. The debug interrupt lets you view the memory, amongst other things. I wonder if there are more debugging functions built in that would be accessed through a dev system?

Watch both the videos. The ECTS build is a demo build (Im hesitant to call anything uncut anymore with knowing exactly what was cut in the first place, that scene I keep showing is an obvious one that takes no work to get to), and the debug version seems to have most if not all of the chapters available.

Sucks its not uncut but I reckon there will be quite a few changes in both builds if we dig deep enough. As already stated above RareWitchProject fans will most likely be very interested in this so make sure a topic is posted on the forum Borman.

That it crashes if you enter the debug menu during gameplay is a likely indicator that it's trying hardware access your emulator doesn't permit. It (probably) wouldn't on a backup device or real cart, since they just pass bad access or write requests to unavailable hardware.

What kind of crash are you getting specificly? If it just hangs that's probably a sign it's waiting for external response. Otherwise, the error code indicates what kind of dev feature they're trying to use and the dev equipment expected. Most common for this kind of thing would be writing to ROM space, something both GE's and PD's existing debug stuff does.

Rare's other debug stuff had a RW range mapped out at the end of the normal 'ROM' range, used to send structs with formatted read/write data requests. For example, in GE when you select to dump rdram it would write an entry into the table and copy all of rdram as the data for the entry. The PC reads the table, grabs that data, then writes an entry that it handled the command.
As a good example of a nonlethal 'hang', when retail GE can't find a file by its filename it enters into a loop trying to check through this nonexistant table in the debug range. If it isn't found, it makes a 'request entry' with the filename the PC can read. If/when a file with that name is uploaded from PC, it copies the object from that location into rdram, sets up a special extension entry into its internal file index, then continues play. You only hang because it can never find an entry if the table it checks doesn't exist ;*)

So, the hang is probably a great indicator that the debug feature has a lot of nifty hidden functionality!

Did you say both the PAL and NTSC builds had the same build date? Or were you reffering to a different Perfect Dark build?
