The exiting the debug menu hangs, sometimes it goes back to the Mature Content screen, which is frozen, othertimes nothing but a black screen.

The ECTS demo hard crashes the emulator, which is always fun.

Here is a video of the debugging function that I do have access to thus far : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1sF9vjBiXY

Perfect dark? No. March 22nd is the NTSC build (dont know what the final is, but id wager its around there too). The PAL build is from April 26th, two days before the final build

Double posting this one, sorry people. I noticed a slight user interface change between the beta NTSC rom, and the retail NTSC rom (and the PAL beta for that matter)

    Beta NTSC :

    Retail NTSC :

Now, I am 99% sure that this isn't the emulators fault, but rather a small difference. I keep all settings the same while loading the different roms (NTSC Beta, PAL Beta, and NTSC Retail), and the only rom that shows the interface like this is the NTSC beta. Doubtful that it is a coincidence, but what do I know? Certainly the type of thing that would have to be confirmed on real hardware before I would be willing to confirm either way.

That said, March 22nd is the NTSC Beta build, and I finally checked the NTSC Retail build, it is April 6th. So its a few weeks earlier anyway, Id imagine the last minute touches were happening at that point.

Edit : Interface is probably an emulation glitch.

Im just going to keep posting in a row, it helps keep the information organized. Below you'll see a video of the debug mode in the NTSC beta of Perfect Dark, along with that seemingly different HUD element.

In this video, you can see a section of wall with the collision data missing entirely.

Thanks to OmegaPirate on the Youtube channel, we have new cheats!

All Good Cheats works, unlocks all the levels (dont know if it does other things)

Speedy Move confirms, but Im not certain it does anything. Same with Skip Cutscenes.

VM Info does not work, but INFO Does, and its a doozy. I can't imagine that this shows up in the retail version!

Edit : Confirmed, none of those cheats work in the retail version at all :p

Same place we've been. Nothing new.

sixtyforce seems to show HostDebug instead of continue, like the crash menu of the retail game. Ive had hostmenu show up on Project64 once, but I hadn't been able to replicate it.

Edit : After clicking HostDebug, I get another lockup :p

Edit 2 : SixtyForce seems to not crash as much on the ECTS build. Exciting.

Well i think the most finding are being made when the public has the roms to tinker with it.

I was wrong, Skip Cutscenes does actually work. Hitting L skips the cutscene :p

Found this date in the ECTS Rom :
    Aug 26 2000

Cant say for sure whether or not is the build date, but it's likely close!

Considering ECTS started in September that year, it seems a fit date since it's not too long just before then they would make their current build for the show.

When are more people gonna donate =p BTW, is there a reason you don't want to set it so people can donate to the individual games? Maybe somewhere down the line if things don't seem to be picking up at all you'll consider it?

Honestly, its the time commitment. Im busy as it is, and while I can keep track of one fundraiser pretty easily, doing 4 then having people pick and choose is just a mess. I've been promised quite a bit come pay day from people, so lets hope it pans out :p

Yep, I for one can't put in anything just yet, but no doubt I will! Probably near the end of the month.

It may have been hacked as well, but there was at least one beta version that leaked, likely more.

By request, showing off the difference in the ECTS and Debug builds for the Experimenting (cut) scene
    http://ptoponline.com/?p=935

The scene after the Tediz part, with the electric chair, is also different. The squirrel doesn't stay alive and say the extra lines after being electrocuted plus hitting the other switch opens the door and gives you the Game Over

Edit : Plus, I dont think this dude is in the retail (based of the Youtube video I watched anyway)

Wow, their pad display is weird looking. I remember seeing the debug menu shots back when the XBLA version was in development, but this is my first time seeing the tiles/pads overlays. (Hope those options work in the N64 betas and it's just plugin inaccuracies preventing them from showing.)

(not to derail hopefully). Wow that PD stuff was interesting from XBLA, I'd not seen it before either. Were there any other interesting debug options that looked like were from original N64 game's debug menu?
