If Wii fit becomes the biggest selling title on the Wii then I'll be sharpening nails for the end of decent games coffin.

Yeah, but there will be other non-"expanded audience" titles, so I don't really fear much.

Besides mario galaxy I cant think of other (good) games, and that one isnt exactly "hardcore gamer" stuff either...

Note that I'm not waiting for metroid, and nights will suck no doubt...

Harcore gaming never existed, get that out of your mind. Gaming was always a casual thing. There are people that take things above what others do, but that doesnt make them harcore.

I don't really see how that is true at all. There are people that are hardcore into sports that could tell you stats back to the 1900's, then there's people that are casually into it. There's people that are hardcore into cars, and people that only know how to drive them. There's people that are hardcore into videogames, and others who play the occasional game of freecell while dicking off at work.

I have no problem with nintendo going off the the millions of potential "casual" players. It won't affect the games that I buy one bit. If people find things like wii fit and mario party 32 fun, good for them.

And Metroid and Nights isn't "hardcore gaming"?

Someone needs to buy one of the GBA so they can be the only person to actually buy one that week. That'd be pretty sweet.

I had the chance to play Wii Fit at this year's E3. I found the Wii Balance Board to essentially be a battery-operated scale. =/

I think it'll work great to bring in more non-traditional gamers, but for people like my friends and I, it'd get old really quick. Though I'm an American gamer. Perhaps Japanese gamers will think otherwise?

The possibility of using it in other games, such as Tony Hawk, could prove interesting.

There can be a harcore gamer in the sense theres collectors I guess. But is that really harcore? Does being a collector make someone hardcore? I have yet to see any game that can be defined as hardcore.

Apparently nowdays hardcore seems to mean that you have to have to play shitty generic fps & racing games with lots of swearing & blood & in glorious high definition to be hardcore.

Theres no such thing as hardcore anyway, people try to use it to make themselves seem better than anyone else. If you play games your a gamer & nothing else.

    'Brawl perhaps?

Don't know what the consensus on the Smash. games is here, but I adored the first two.

That's the one. Looks like it's going to be a very good title from the Famitsu feature. Something that will sure be on my Wii shopping list. At the moment mind you I'm using it to play Game Cube games  Eternal Darkness it is at the moment. Very nice !

The Wii is not going to suddenly die a death, but most of the money for this trend is going directly to Nintendo rather than Third Parties.
