I looked at teh ROM though jEdit as well.

Unless anyone here speaks korean.... I don't think there are any hints to be had within that file.

Not to mention his "trivia question" is a trick question.

Shame it turned out to be fake since its most likely we wont see any sort of what the game was like before it was canned. Yet another fake and with April fools coming up soon we could be seeing something like this again :banghead:

This is what happens when lame people that can't program their own fake prototype do this kind of thing. I mean if you are going to fuck with people you could atleast code your own crappy prototype ROM and have a slight clue about wtf you are trying to decieve people with.

That's true, if you could, you'd be better off spending your time making your very own game to call your own.

If you highlight the whole text, you will see the words "hidden in the symbol" after the line that reads "your hint is this...".

If the save the jpeg and zoom in, the image appears to have a number 3 on each of the black triangles....

    /3\
    /3\/3\

Dunno what that means & and there may be more to see if you try adjusting the contrast and stuff. I found this in a few minutes, but really can't be arsed to spend any longer than that on it to be honest.

    I guess so. ^_^

Don't know what to do next, I think there are six clues in total? He sure has put lots of thought into it, for good or bad though I don't know.

Funny to see this thread is still alive after like two years. That's the drawing power of Zelda. Too bad this guy is pulling everyone's chain.

Of course, I will be the first one to bite my tounge if it actually does turn out to be real, but don't hold your breath.

    And, oh yeah:

I thought the same exact thing. Mostly everyone must know that this is just a big hoax. But.... Zelda. There is always the smallest almost impossible chance that this is real. So people keep believing...

Ahhh, if this is real, I will be sad and happy. :icon_bigg Mostly Happy Though.

The only reason I'm holding out is that I just find that it strange that he may have put a good deal of work going into this "treasure hunt" thing.

Plus, I've seen jerks lie about things for maybe 2 months tops. But, holding a auction, maintaining a site and keeping this going for so long is pretty impressive if its just a hoax....

But, I digress... this is Zelda III, and he hasn't even aired a screenshot of the thing.

Was he aiming for April Fools?

This could have been the longest April Fool's Prank ever. :)
