certanly not the worst on this list, but here's a new entry from CES: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=4344
Red Button of DOOM! If I ever become leader of a country with nuclear weapons, Thats The mouse I'm Gonna have!
big oops, I made a mistake, that is the one I was talking about, but I just thought I thought wrong. That the other one was the controller.
Ha. Its not a button its a removable weight. You can customize the feel by how heavy it is, that means I can get my ass handed to me with a beefier mouse. Great! I suppose if you need to throw something at someone......
Am I the only one that liked the power glove? I think the dreamcast controller is great if you don't take into account the trigger buttons. Playing Test Drive 6 for more than 15 minutes gets painfull. I haven't ever seen, let alone used most of these funky controllers that you guys have been talking about, but I'd say my least favorite of all the controllers I have used would be the Playstation controllers, dual shock or otherwise. And while it didn't bother me at the time, going back to the NES controller now can be physically painfull.
Yes, the title of the thread includes the word 'retard'. It may not have been the most sensitive choice, but it's an unarguable fact that the word has entered into colloquial usage as a euphamism for 'stupid' as well - which is the context in which the word was meant here. And we're all VERY well aware that physically handicapped people are in no way mentally handicapped by extension, but then I'm not sure that was really implied by anyone here in the first place. Again, the thread title may have been inappropriate, but the discussion here was centered solely on stupid controller designs, and as far as I could tell nobody was acting out of line anyways. Heavy-handed crusading like this can sometimes be a real killjoy in an otherwise interesting topic. I liked 2/3 of the N64 controller. The analog stick was great (provided you didn't wear it out), the Z trigger was fun, and the C-buttons worked well. But that blasted D-pad has to be the worst in all history - horribly stiff and unresponsive! I really like the Dreamcast controller, except for the fact that after a good amount of usage the face buttons (especially B) tend to start feeling really squishy.
A couple more odd NES controllers from QuickShot: Nintendo Joypad: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y203/Speedy_NES/DSCN4745.jpg Chimera 2: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y203/Speedy_NES/DSCN4746.jpg Also can't forget the Roll & Rocker from Ljn http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y203/Speedy_NES/DSCN4771.jpg
Agreed on both counts. The d-pad on the N64 is about as useless with the d-pad for the Gamecube - from one extreme of size to the other, why do you torment us Nintendo? You own the patent for d-pads, why not make good use of it? Why didn't you use the d-pad from the GBA?
