You must know. Then again, it makes perfect sense that out of all users, you are that one guy who openly roots for Romney, lol. I just hope that the majority of the US citizens isn't as shortsighted as you are.
Well, it's definitely going there. The only reason they haven't yet is because the health care bill won't be enacted until this coming January. Once it does, we'll see a few new taxes (including the return of the Estate Tax). His environmental policies have also made several coal plants in my home state fall into a lot of financial trouble, which is putting more people out of work, which is making the market in my area dwindle a little more, which is making the cost of goods soar a little more. Under this administration, I among many others I know have suffered quite a bit of economic hardship. Even still, I'm happy. Two good things it taught me was how to skim for jobs be and how to be an econnoisseur, but imagine being able to do those sorts of things in a more thriving economy.
Yeah I think I should have worded that better. I'm not saying abolishing parties so much as, giving the fringe ones a chance. There is somebody I know who wanted to abolish parties though. and I was more referring to what he had said. Well this forum does have alot of people who are politically retarded. I learned that from the Occupy thread. I think alot of people here are from different backgrounds than my own and see things differently. Although someone and he will remain nameless was so deplorable is severed all contact with him. Good chance the healthcare law will be eventually repealed. it's one of the things looming over Obama. It won't hit him when he's impeached But it doesn't help him either. Look at all his excutive orders. Now I don't know how many are legit and how much is Alex Jones right wingnut fear mongering but Obama has signed an aweful lot of excutive orders. Either A) He's a Moron B) he is the satan C) he's doing what he's told by the left wing nuts.
If Romney restores the 3rd world health care system the US had before Obama then you're all fucked over. Have fun with your regained freedom and your strong 1-trillion-dollar/year army if you can't even afford some cough medicine and every stroke means debt for life. How retarded can one be? Virtually the entire rest of the world has better health care than the US and once there is one reasonable man becoming president, everyone is against it. In favor for unsustainable energy and military. You say Obama's sustainability laws put a limit to the coal industry? Boo-hoo. Coal isn't forever, if it's not Obama, then nature will cut the coal industry's throat a few years later. Europe had a thriving coal industry until the 1980's and guess what - suddenly the coal mines were empty, people were FORCED to give up their jobs. Big deal, now Europe has lower unemployment rates than the US... time to look forward, not backwards. People who support Romney and account all the bad things to Obama always say the same shit. Boo-hoo, he made things hard for our coal workers. Boo-hoo, now we have health care. This is retarded. Sincerely, the rest of the world.
Or maybe just 1 pissed off german. There was nothing wrong with our healthcare system. Now it's completely broken and still worse than the Healthcare systems of the UK, Canada and Australia. all of where are government run too by the way. Leave it to demcrats to take something as simple as say the UK's healthcare system and completely fuck it up so no matter who you are it makes them money.
I don't know how it was before, but the plain fact that you could go in debt for the rest of your life when you have a stroke is ridiculous. Many movies and Simpsons episodes featured this problem, like Homer not being able to afford heart surgery and face death as the only alternative. That's insane! Guess what, in France, Germany, UK, Italy - EVERYWHERE - people can go to the hospital for fun. They pay insurance, they live, they can still go out and eat ice cream, but they can also have heart surgery and pay less than the price of a PS3 for it. Tell me again how there was nothing wrong with your system. It's still not perfect, but Romney means complete stagnation while Obama represents a first effort into the right direction. And besides, how can someone possibly make a point for Romney by saying that Obama will probably raise taxes in the future? What's Romney doing? Did you ever try to understand his "5 trillion plan"? There's 1 trillion of unexplained funds... and still no tax raise? In short, I don't get how people who are not part of the rich 1% can root for Romney. If I was a millionare in the US - ok, maybe Romney would support my goals. But if I was "normal", I'd probably be a little bit more reluctant to trust a spoiled brat who has been spoonfed with a golden spoon for all his life and is known for his merciless stand on middle and lowerclass workers, or the 47% worthless percent. How can you trust that someone who cannot relate to "normal people" whatsoever understands and supports your needs better than Obama? I just don't get it.
Say you're having financial problems and you need somebody to get you back on track. To you hire a Neighborhood Planner who has no idea what he's doing. Or a man with a business background?
Do you really think that the president is the one and only person who makes economic decisions? Both, Obama and Romney, have economic advisors who seek nothing but an economic upswing. The difference is in how they want to achieve it... Because you gave me a parabola example, let me give you one too. If you were to hire a plumber for a broken pipe, would you hire the one who has tons of customers and doesn't care about one more or less or would you hire the one who is dependent of your satisfaction?
Ok so the neighborhood planer has people telling him what to do, and he just does what they say and doesn't think about it. But the Business man who also has people telling him what to do as a business man knows what advice is good and what is bad.
I know people who have illnesses that will have them dead within the next decade if not the next, and Obama's healthcare changes have actually made it more difficult for them to get the treatment they need in favor of a stupid drunk kid who stumbled into something and broke his leg. You do realize how massive our population is, don't you? The United States' is just about equal in population to all of the countries you mentioned combined plus Canada. Organized socialism like that might work in Europe, where land and people can be more easily networked, but our population is too massive, diverse, and unorganized to comply to something like that without some radical changes that the country is not yet ready for. And before it could even be ready for something like that, the private jobs sector needs to be improved. At this point, when unemployment rates are as high as they are, it would be the worst possible time to introduce organized health care in this country. It would create a situation where maybe only 2 in 10 would support the system, and 8 of 10 would take from it. That's not to say I wouldn't love the idea of universal health care. The idea of spending almost nothing to get treatment sounds great, but the US is not designed for that sort of thing! And saying that, there's definitely things that should be improved about our healthcare system. Pharmaceutical companies make medicine for pennies on the dollar and sell it for hundreds (and that ties hand in hand with pot still being illegal. ) We have a lot of specialist hospitals, but they are costly. But you can get government medicaid, work at one of many private companies that offer excellent healthcare for an inexpensive price (which has only become more difficult with the rising unemployment that you're saying boo-hoo to), or even join our trillion/year military that has top-notch health, dental, and vision. Since you're considering that we have an expensive military, also consider that Obama has almost doubled the national debt in only 4 years time. That's about 6-8 trillion! Now since you're applying the Simpsons and movies to realistic situations, lets look at everything about it realistically: Homer works at a power plant that's union, which in an actual situation would mean that he would have had excellent health benefits and it would be nearly impossible for him to get fired without a strike or higher-up union reps getting involved in the situation. But that would make for a boring episode of a TV show, wouldn't it? And lol, boo-hoo to hundreds of people being left destitute? I thought you Europeans were more humane then that. I have nothing to do with coal, as I said earlier, I'm fine in this economic despair. However, I do feel bad for all of those people that were put out of work for no reason other than to further industries that still need quite a lot of research and development before they could be practical in any way. I'm all for "moving forward", but only with proper caution and regard and in the interest of actually helping out society. That's the true purpose of government, but this was just an instance of an unaware government making decisions that helped no one. Honestly, before you make such bold claims, I'd encourage you to do more research on the subjective needs of the world. I have no problem with how your governments work, but that doesn't necessarily mean that I'm looking for a scenario like that over here.
Fuck Obama. That is all. So fucking drunk right now. But so fucking serous about Obama. That guy will be the death of me since I'm disabled if his medical bill goes through.
Wrote on a comment section of some website about a week ago on an article about "Are you better off now then you were 4 years ago?". I liked the way it summed up my thoughts: I don't care if John McCain had won... I don't expect anyone to fix a problem that took 30 years to create in 4 years... 2008 was just the perfect storm of things that had been happening since 1980. Every President/Congress since then has had their hand in "stacking" the blocks for the 2008 collapse. Nor do I think it will be fixed if Obama wins 4 more years or Romney wins... We are trying to fix the symptoms, not the cause, and it is unfortunate. ----------------------------------- A better way to sum it up maybe is like western medicine: You have 100's of people whose feet hurt, so they companies work to make a drug to relieve pain, instead of trying to figure out why the foot hurts in the first place (maybe the way they walk, blood flow, bone structure, nerve problem, ect).... One a side note: I think the "Are you better off now then you were 4 years ago?" thing is one of the most destructive phrases to our political process. In ANY century or decade...
If you look at US History this has all happened before the late 1800s, pre WWI, The Great Depression, 1970s, early 80s, What's going on now happened before it'll happen again and keep happening until Cthulhu enslaves us all. In other words, History runs in cycles. Either it was designed that way, or that's how human nature works.
Wasn't that the thread you claimed everybody at the Occupy movements was a commie and then screamed to yourself everybody else was idiots and had lost their mind?
Discussing US politics on an international board is such a bizarre thing to behold.. I would like to ask anyone here why I should cast my vote for Obama though.. I don't want wishy washy diatribes and mantras. I would like actual facts and empirical data if applicable.
OK, here's the first link I got from Google: http://www.policymic.com/articles/12835/mitt-romney-economic-plan-debunked-in-5-simple-bullets
I was looking for more of a personal touch here. I simply haven't met an articulate and informed Obama pusher that can give me real reasons why they, or myself should vote for a second term. I lived his first term day by day and I have to say that I am very much dissatisfied with the results.
