Also, that link does not include any facts,, It lays out Romney's plan and then debunks it by simply stating "it won't work", but gives no real reasons why and provides absolutely zero reason to believe that the Obama pla of doing nothing at all would be better.
There are some numbers in this article: http://www.policymic.com/articles/1...the-romney-ryan-plan-is-dangerous-for-america
So... what you're saying is, is that your knowledge of how things in America work comes from The Simpsons and movies. I'm not sure you are in a position to make the most astute observations about us at the moment.
This is the first election in a long time, since I've been able to vote, where I am not voting. A choice between a guy who wants us to buy brand new electric cars over our current working gas guzzlers and making us pay 3 bucks a gallon (Obama) vs a guy who wants to get rid of FEMA and have the states in charge of their own disasters (Romney). They both really stink. Usually one guy is the better choice but not this time.
If Obama gets back in, I'm dead thanks to his new laws on disabled folks and his Obama care. I have too many health issues... Does that mean what I THINK it means???
Looking from an external perspective in, I think a lot of people looking into American politics see a president who's just got the country out of a bit of a quagmire and into recovery. Unfortunately, the 'Hope' your current president lauded couldn't happen from a combination of a lot of changes being vetoed by 'we're against everything you say' party lines, and the sad fact that, in 2008, people didn't truly realise the issues surrounding the extreme spending and how deep the recession would go. We out here see a guy who's done a darn sight more to save your country than your previous president did. For a lot of people, Romney is seen as bad news. He is so tied up with a lot of dependencies (through his connections with Bain Capital and his family ties with GM) and 'repeal everything Obama has done' rhetoric that if he gets into power, he is likely to spend the first 2 years of his watch potentially dragging the country - and possibly the world - back into recession. His flip-flopping stance on important foreign and domestic matters and his 'gung-ho' ideas about how to restore the economy are just plain frightening. It doesn't help that he is unanimously disliked by the world, and is seen as a bully and hothead who would rather shut the doors to the US and kill foreign policy than realise than accept your current president as right on some matters. Many in the UK see echoes of the illustrious Dubya in his style - take for example when he stopped in the UK as part of his 'world tour', where he openly distrusted our country's ability to run the Olympics, and told us we'd probably go down in flames. ( http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...ympics-gaffe-overshadows-visit-to-London.html ). This trip was a simple photo op, so if he can screw up on this simple task, how will he fare on a big, real-issue job? That's what worries the British. However, it's not just the UK that has issues with Romney. Take, for example, this survey (conducted by the BBC worldwide) which shows other countries' opinions on the two candidates as of the last month: ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-20008687 ) There was also a bit of an interesting factoid over here re: Romney's position of Sandy; if Romney was in power when Sandy hit, it's likely the cleanup operation would be 100% funded by the states and counties that were affected, as Romney wants to shut down your national disaster relief agency - despite what he did on the night with his 'oh so ego-boosting' rally 'in support' of those affected. He also stated quite often that he wishes to cut back on foreign trade and reduce non-US products (an inherited issue from his Detroit background and lineage), which will, for a period, put people out of work back in employment for a limited time but then with inflated prices (due to limited foreign trade) cause the wheels to fall off as people reduce their spending to compensate. Fingers crossed that the world is wrong about Romney, if he gets in.
I've heard nothing but stupid shit fly out of Romney's mouth, the amount of things he wants to scrap will probably lead the US into the stone age... However I've always seen Obama as a good president but I don't know about the policies in the US, from the chart above seems like Obama is still popular.
My knowledge comes from popular media, news coverage, political articles and background readings. Known facts: - The US health care system had always been the most idiotic one in the entire first world - Romney loves that because he's rich and doesn't care - Romney is against gay marriage - Romney prefers to spend tax money on military rather than education That's more than enough for me to know that rooting for him is a shitty decision. What many 'muricans forget about is that the USA are one of the biggest economic powers in the world and if they are not acting in favor of process and sustainable technologies and development of education, they are gonna give up their position forever because they want "moar jawwbbs" now rather than in 10 years - and other countries that are dependent of the US are suffering with them. Let me for example take the Chinese school system - it is extremely hard, and students are very capable at the end of high school. Many European school systems are also a lot more demanding and harder than the standard US high school education. In order to stay competitive, the US need to invest in education and teachers, for the future. But what does Romney? "We need more cannon boats", that's what he says. Shortsightedness is an understatement, you don't need to have majored in US politics to understand the problem with Romney.
I had a stroke 2 years ago and was paralyzed on my right side for 6 months. Didnt have insurance and am now in debt for over 100k. With our holdhold yearly income under 40k yea thats going to be a debt for life. Does that help?
I am very worried for the LGBT people in USA. If Romney comes to power. Cause then they are pretty screwed.
Ahh, no worries, even though it looks close on paper, Obama is gonna win Florida and then it'll be all over.
I have LGBT friends in the USA. And I owe one of them my life. So I hope it is a positive thing you have just said.
