Since he's obviously died so far :p. But to be fair I think Mccain would have been the same as Obama but with a war with Iran on top of everything.

It doesn't matter who won because the real problem is the Congress. As long as it remains a cesspool of cronyism, legalized corruption, and working to make the other guy look bad at the expense the country nobody will be able to govern effectively. This applies to both parties or should I say party because at the end of the day they are all about the same thing... Looking out for themselves.

In the years since the bombing, scientists, security experts, and the ATF have called on Congress to develop legislation that would require customers to produce identification when purchasing ammonium nitrate fertilizer, and for sellers to maintain records of its sale. Critics argue that farmers lawfully use large quantities of the fertilizer,[SUP][195][/SUP] and as of 2009, only Nevada and South Carolina require identification from purchasers.[SUP][195][/SUP] In June 1995, Congress enacted legislation requiring chemical taggants to be incorporated into dynamite and other explosives so that a bomb could be traced to its manufacturer.[SUP][196][/SUP] In 2008, Honeywell announced that it had developed a nitrogen-based fertilizer that would not detonate when mixed with fuel oil. The company got assistance from the Department of Homeland Security to develop the fertilizer (Sulf-N 26) for commercial use.[SUP][197][/SUP] It uses ammonium sulfate to make the fertilizer less explosive.[SUP][198][/SUP]

Just to make it clear: I'm not a right wing christian gun nut. I just post common opinions and see what people think about them to gain a greater understanding.

I hope so, since this picture seems like a strange attempt of some gun-nuts to justify their controversial "needs".

One has to be either really stupid or really desperate to compare the tempting effect of fertilizer and box trucks with that of a gun ready to shoot. Almost everything can be diverted from its intended use to kill someone, we cannot prohibit all these objects from open sale. But a gun is only being built for just that: To kill. And it is commonly used for that purpose. If it was only about sports (i.e. hitting a target), why don't they use softair etc? No, it's about the danger, the threat of life, the thrill, what gets people's affection. And this thrill can be very dangerous if the wrong person is fascinated by it... only way to prevent further damage is to make it impossible for such a person to get a weapon.

And that's the part where the United States are just simply fucked up.

I said it million times already. If you need a gun to defend yourself in the city, not in some remote village where you can meet wolf, bear, tiger, whatever more often than a cop, then you don't need a gun, you need a new government and police. An average Joe with a gun is just a walking ammo depot for a criminal or maniac anyway.

P.S. Don't tell me that gun is needed for that change, it's a different story, and you'll probably need something more powerful than assault rifle if elections won't work :D

It always makes me laugh when somebody pulls the "they'll take away our guns and then we can't defend ourselves against the evil government!" Really, a bunch of hicks with guns against an actual trained military force with drones, tanks and smart bombs? Good luck.

It sickens me that shooters get more attention than the Victims...

does nobody think this just encourages the next suicidal idiot packing heat to top the last one?

there's been some insanely stupid things in the idiot rags but thats definatly up there...

i can strip down multiple systems and reassemble them in minuits simultaniously while drunk / very hungover and was quiet in school damn i must be a crazed gunman waiting to erupt into a killing spree...

i fear all this will start leading to psychological profiling of kids...

I'm the exact same in school. Don't really talk to people I don't know, and the few times we've worked with PC's I've had them apart, Labelled the pieces and taken pictures for the assignment and back together in under half an hour...

I guess I'm top of the schools bomb list.

Here. Here is an actual intelligent and well thought-out opinion (which is rare in this debate, on both sides):
    http://kontradictions.wordpress.com...ew-the-assault-weapons-ban-well-ill-tell-you/

(Actually, this isn't really an "opinion", but simply a presentation of facts)

^^^ Wow this article was awesome. Never met or heard of a liberal gun owner but he presented everything perfectly. He addresses the assault weapon ban (always made me laugh usually call it the "Scary Gun Ban"), He also addresses the fact that there are millions of gun in the U.S population and not a good way to get them back.

If America could round up all the conversatives and the religious nuts and put them in a concentration camp in lets say the whole of Utah, accept that the Europeans are right about healthcare, then they could ban guns easily and the world would be a much happier place.
