No way that Sony is going to re-release PSP games to the -even more easy to pirate- Android system. Sony will probally put it's PsOne backcatalog online and perhaps certain PSP Mini's.

The PSPGo! was an utter failure. Why continue with a PSP phone? Even the original PSP kind of sucked for Sony because piracy is/was so rampant.

    This was reported as fake.

EDIT: Take a look at the screen - A button and B button? Yet there are no such buttons for PlayStation.

    looks promising imho.

I'm not much into playing games on my phone, but once in awhile it is nice to kill a few minutes when stuck waiting somewhere.

Just can't say how sure I am about touch sensitive pads replacing real thumb sticks.

First off, there is no proof of it being fake, and more proof of it being real, as Engadget continues to offer it up. Second off, its an early release. The Xbox doesn't have a C button, but the early dashboard did, so was that fake? No. Its just early. And you know what DOES have an A and a B? A keyboard, something that all Android phones have, either virtually or hardware.

Android is an amazing piece of software, which can already use the Wii controller. Having a controller built in will be awesome in my opinion, saves me space in my bag, that's for sure.

I like my G1 Android phone and i do like my psp 1001 so a PSP/Phone combo is a nice idea to me but only if they don't do something like this thing linked to.

If they could make a phone with similar hardware as whatever the PSP2 is using and allowed the same games to be played on both devices via physical media then i would like the idea because you have the proper gaming aspect of the PSP2 along with full phone functionality (whether it dual booted android for phone stuff and psp OS for gaming). Also i'd like to have proper controls for gaming on a phone.

I don't want an android device with some sony marketplace selling seperate games from the full PSP and from the android market not that that's a bad idea (or at least right now it isn't)but it just something i don't like.

If it could play PSP games on it or at least if you could download PSX games from Playstation Network it would be awesome. Yeah right! Who am I kidding? Not even in my dreams would ever happened but you never know...

If youre that worried, then make some backups of your personal PS1 collection, and use the PS1 emulator thats already out.

Actually Ps1 is almost a given (if this comes out). Singer (head of sony) has many times mention waning to extend PSN services (Movies & even ps1 games) to other devices. If this phone connects through PSN, and not a separate store, then even all your ps1 purchases for ps3/psp would be accessible and most likely at no additional cost.

Well damn, why the fuck don't they start actually releasing PS1 games on PSN in the US?

There's hardly any games compared to the truckloads available on the JPN PSN store.
    It's pathetic.

Hehe. I wrote Singer not Stinger.

It's hard to say. A lot of it is up to publishers them selves and I think some don't like the restrictions SCEA forces on them (if you noticed, Other then early namco games, SCEA is listed as the publisher on all PS1 titles re-released on PSN).

    And info:

The device appears to have an 8GB microSD card slotted, and at least 512MB of internal storage (though we're hoping it's the 1GB we've heard would be present). As you can see from the pictures the device isn't exactly thin -- we surmise that the handset is around 17mm thick, or slightly thicker than HTC's Touch Pro 2 (and funnily enough, about the same as the PSPgo)

IMO maybe its just a PSPgo revival, and it will have both PSP and PSX games ported to it, while the PSP2 will be based on different hardware and uncompatible with this and the original PSP
