Maybe five to six grand then. MY limited budget around 3000 grand. Depends on Sega Saturn fans willing to pay that high price.

    EDIT

I'm notice someone here asking to dump bio or open up this proto device which kind of disrespect though.

Then you won't be the winning bidder if he sells this in the future, my bet is that this could go for the price of a nice car. Don't forget this is a very unique item with only one known similar one, and two other produced ones. It's not a Versace version, but still...

Also, people asked for bios dump and disassembly respectfully and the OP took it well and was/is open to disassemble the console, so no harm there!

That wouldn't be a problem to me.

Right, as long Super Magnetic is happy with that about bios and dissemble the proto kit.

I didn't expect this much media coverage over this! Good to see the Sega fire is still burning, but honestly, I didn't really want to see my device on sites like IGN, heh. (Guess I should have seen it coming, though.)

As far as opening the device goes, I'm still considering it, but I wouldn't be able to get around to it for a bit (work/home life getting in the way, and I'd want to set aside some time and do it right... and carefully). I'll let you know when I do, though.

unheard78, I may have a copy of Dee Dee Planet, but I honestly can't remember. I'll take a look next time I'm in America.

By the way, I never really promised a ROM dump... mainly because I wouldn't know how to go about doing that! How does one do something like that, anyway?

Teancum: Wow, that's definitely the same as mine! Now the mystery is if it is the Pluto-01 (most likely), or if there were more than two made. Amazing that it ended up at a flea market...

Yes. I should have two or three Saturn CD-R with differents versions of Kira Term for PLUTO in my parent's house. Is not available for download cause it wasn't leaked to the public.

Those picture I used years ago when I make a joke on my website in a sort of April's fools in Spain (Dia de los inocentes).

I will contact with you and i would like to share if you want for testing it the real Pluto proto hardware. I was wondering wich hardware would match with the disc and you come with this and make me happy!!

And I forgot, my condolences for the loss of Monkfish.

That's a very interesting piece of SEGA history Super Magnetic thanks for sharing some background info about this system (if it's true that only 2 are in existence you are very lucky), also I'm very sorry to hear about Monkfish's passing my condolences go out to his family and friends. You also mentioned that you worked for SEGA during the Dreamcast era, that's interesting, I'll be sending you a PM in a little bit as there's something I'm curious about and maybe you might know something about it.

Hey as i said in another thread, goodwill and other stores like that are always good places to find this stuff.
Goodwill employees half the time are retarded and will put something, such as a xbox debug kit for example, for only $10.

The CDR won't work on the Pluto unless you have a BLUE system disc to load it.
