The story of you avatar Thread!

I always though that picture looked like Will Smith (looks similar to one of the press snaps from Bad Boys II), not sure whether you will take that as a compliment or insult! but just to clarify, it is not intended as any sort of insult or slur against you, it was just an observation by myself

Even so, still a cool picture, and as Mr P said, you must have some balls to do that! my hat is off to you my friend :033:

 

Yeah, DRussian, at first I thought it was a shot from some movie as you look genuinely crazy! A bit like the Russian guy with his AK-47U (the shortened version) in that movie Snatch

And PhantasyStar, why would you have a pic of GP in your avatar? Just curious, at least this knowledge enables me to understand the "your avatar looks gay" trollfight or at least why GP joined in.

Anyway, about my avatar. Years ago Tachikoma pointed me to the Welsh faux-gangsta-rap group called the Goldie Lookin Chain, and I looked up their website. They have a HUGE gallery where fans/f*ed-up stoners (whichever applies ) send in pictures of celebrities/things/video games/whatever photoshopped with gold chains, spliffs, red eyes or GLC-quotes. I found this one in the gallery and it made me laugh, plus, the guy looks quite a lot like me!

 

I have often wondered whether this was you or not.

 

Well, currently he is a bit slimmer than I am, unfortunately :-(

 

Hehe It was like 2am, I took loads of pics of me and my ex gf pretending we were Bonnie and Clyde types. I always end up doing this face in pictures that makes me look like i`m going to bite someones face off :icon_bigg

Hehe people always think I look like someone, must have one of those faces. If only the backdrop was less West London and more LA.

No real story behind my avatar, it's just a picture of one of my A'can systems that I have lying around.

 

I don't know, I'm not certain what that is .
I know there were a lot of similarities with ExoSquad and Robotech, which lead to a lawsuit and then indirectly lead to the end of the series. :-(

there was almost a cross over but the authors scrapped it with ths third season. :-\

always wanted a hook-ups deck but never got super deep into skating. tried but i'd injure myself every damn summer so i couldn't even start really and i had no time during the rest of the year.

as for my avatar. i used to have Rider from Fate/Stay night because shes awesome. but now i have a random photo from a beach in Iceland i do believe. one day i'll have my own place in Northern Europe. one day......

Yeah, that was all do to the parameters of the lawsuit. Early toy and art mock-ups for the series actually used items directly copied from Robotech. The two companies that held the US liscense found out about it and one was playcated quite quickly while the other sued. Securing the Robotech toy liscense and merging the universes in the proposed third season was how Universal Animation protected themselves from paying out huge amounts of money. While the show was originally inspired by Robotech, turning it into Robotech's past was about 3/4 lawsuit and 1/4 creativity. The third season was scrapped due to poor ratings and not enough money.
