    Thank you so much!

    Last of the VHS tapes (including the one that was covered up by the glare).

    Not wanting to be too much of a pain, but I was checking my translated script for the first Clock Tower game and just wanted to double-check two parts I wasn't 100% sure about.

    The first one is fairly small, but I just wanted to be sure I was reading the response back correctly. I know there's some issues in some translated patches of the game already, so once I've gotten my site in order I'm intending on making a patch for it with an exact translation as it drives me nuts when seeing the incorrect English one bring up characters and the like when in the dialogue they were never mentioned! DX

    [IMG]

    The second is a letter, I know it was written oddly (what with the character writing it dying of suffocation and all that) so there was a line in the middle that was a bit hard to read properly. Something along the lines of them being demon children/spawn of the devil and shouldn't exist or something of the sort but a couple of the kanji got me a bit confused when I was translating the game out ages ago.

    Walter's Letter

    I hope I'm not asking too much with these translation requests. >_<;

    Hi Lamont,

    Here you go. (As I mentioned before though, I'm not really in-the-know when it comes to the Clock Tower games, so forgive me if there are any obvious mistakes!)

    <Dr Walter Simpson's note>

    11/10/1986

    By Dr Walter Simpson

    It's been three days since my confinement began,
    and I can tell I've not much time left. Before the
    end, I must divulge all that I know. The twins pose
    intangible danger to this world.

    I was brought to this place when my wife gave
    birth. What she brought into this world though...is
    undoubtably the spawn of the devil.

    Not long after they emerged, did they devour my
    right hand. However, their bodies do not yet function
    properly and I pray they'll not last three days.

    Should they endure though, you must take matters
    into your own hands; they must be killed. If no
    action is taken, then chaos is a certainty.

    It's getting hard to breathe as I presume the air
    is running out in here. In a cradle under the stars
    is where you'll find them, deep within their dark
    slumber...

    Jennifer...

    Jennifer...

    Jennifer...

    -------------------------------------------

    Give me a shout if you need anything else.

    Cheers!

    Ah, thank you very much.

    I'm glad I had read the first one correctly when I wrote it all down beforehand.

    Are you sure about the line "I was brought to this place when my wife gave
    birth."?

    I had thought it was essentially "I was brought here for the sake of the wife's delivery." or something along the lines of that but the kanji made it a bit confusing.

    Just as the creator has said some opposites to what he allowed to go with the games (comics, drama cd and two novels) so there's a few variants as the creator says that Jennifer isn't related to the Burroughs family, whereas the novels do so if Walter was referring to his wife as being Mary or having been to the house beforehand it would change quite a bit of information up. ^^;

    That's just why I wanted to be sure on that factor.

    Essentially, Walter helps Mary give birth and they ate his right hand. He was sealed in a room and suffocated to death whilst he left a note to his daughter.

    Then, as he's disappeared there's a few different things said about Jennifer's mother. The official comics state that shortly after that, her Mother died. Jennifer was about five years old at the time.

    Hifumi said the Mother just started dating another man and gave up custody rights to her daughter, the novels state that her mother was a member of the Burroughs family and was killed.

    So, there could be a couple of plot points going together instead of essentially Jennifer ending back there as a sheer coincidence. >_<;

    Hi Lamont,

    Ah yes, I think you're right.

    When I skimmed through the first time, I just assumed he was talking about his wife giving birth. However now I think a more accurate translation would be along the lines of what you said, or perhaps, "I was called here to be on hand for the [wife's] delivery". If the identity of the "wife" is established properly elsewhere, then I'd probably take out the direct mention as it reads better without it.

    Cheers!

    Ah, that's true. Though the issue being is that the identity of the wife isn't revealed unless you check the medical papers in the room to discover it's Mary sadly. But I'm glad I wasn't far off with what I had written down and that I'm not the only one that thinks it was worded horribly...

    Thank you very much again!

    I swear, this will be the last translation request for a while! >_<;

    It seems that with the doujinshi I had ordered from Japan has included a container that had a small dirt potting base and a packet of seeds in it. I'm not exactly sure what the seeds are of and somehow it got past customs, as dirt or plants/seeds are usually blocked from being brought into Australia.

    I've scanned in the slip of paper that was in the container as well as the sticker underneath, if it wouldn't be too much to ask would it be possible to inquire as to if whatever they are is mentioned on them?

    http://i1242.photobucket.com/albums/gg522/Enetirnel/LittleHerbPage001.jpg
    http://i1242.photobucket.com/albums/gg522/Enetirnel/LittleHerbPage002.jpg
    http://i1242.photobucket.com/albums/gg522/Enetirnel/LittleHerbPage003.jpg

    I had no idea she was going to include that and it wasn't marked down on the shipping slip's item list. If I had known that it was going to be included, I would have requested that it be removed to be on the safe side.

    >_<;

    And this is that postcard I had mentioned beforehand, it's the line of text next to the "Now Printing" image just wanting to confirm what it says in regard to that item.

    Clock Tower 2 Postcard

    As I haven't seen any additional CDs or CD-Roms, it also wouldn't be the Drama CD because the price is different.

    Now, it could very well exist seeing as the telephone card next to it does (I have one of those) but it would be a little easier to try and find it once I get an exact translation on that. >_<;

    Hi Lamont,

    Just to give you the gist, here's what's covered in those scans:

    -------------------------------------------
    <LittleHerbPage001.jpg>
    - Instructions and warnings about the "Little Herbs" set (originally from Holland)
    - Contains sweet basil, Italian parsley and lemon balm

    -------------------------------------------
    <LittleHerbPage002.jpg>
    - Detailed instructions about how to plant and grow the herbs
    - Additional tips on thyme and camomile

    -------------------------------------------
    <LittleHerbPage003.jpg>
    - Some information about the lemon balm, telling the owner to grow a "cute little plant"(!) from inside this can
    - It's also stating that the container should be stored somewhere away from sunlight or it might make affect the seeds' ability to germinate.

    -------------------------------------------
    <ClockTower2Postcard001.jpg>
    - It says:
    "CLOCK TOWER 2
    Highlight CD-ROM
    3000 Winners
    "

    -------------------------------------------

    Hope that helps! Let me know if you need more specific information.

    Cheers!

    Ah, thank you very much! The artist tried to explain but she wasn't sure about the names in English. Panic attack over (oh, the irony).

    As for that Clock Tower 2 one.... I've never seen one online in any collections. There's only about two people with publicly large collections, one I privately talk to. Looks like I might have to send some e-mails out or see if I can find any old cached pages on that.

    Alright, this goes into my top five list of unseen items. That's the only thing I've seen that mentions the Highlight CD-Rom so I'll have to look into it more. >_<;

    Hi Lamont,

    Well, for what it's worth, I'll ask around a few of my friends in Japan who are pretty avid collectors of horror games from the PlayStation 1 and 2 era. Can't say I recall either of them talking about Clock Tower rarities specifically, but I do know that one of them is going out with a junior editor at Famitsu magazine, so you never know what they could potentially gets their hands on!

    Also, and apologies if you've already found this (or if the person in the thread is you!), but it looks like you're not the only one after the "Highlight(s) CD-ROM":

    Ah, thank you very much. That would be a great help.

    (And for the record, that's me on THIA). I just wanted to check if I had read it right on that postcard because I translate stuff fairly slowly and I had rushed that so I wasn't sure if I was way off.
