What's the translation for this : 炎の闘球児 ドッジ弾平

    Here's it's boxart :
    https://imgur.com/PRpYzO6

The game is for the Megadrive developed by Sega which seems to be based from a manga / anime.

I'm almost sure that "Dodgeball Kuy Kid" isn't the correct translation but for some reason a lot of ROM sites/lists use that name.... Wierd......

"dan" is bullet and "hei" which becomes "pei" in this combination is a character often found in male first names. It's a (made up) name after all, no wonder you don't find it in a dictionary.

Learning what most western language schools and universities consider to be basic Japanese probably wouldn't help much with deciphering that screenshot unfortunately since it is all kanji. Some parts of it are fairly easy to learn though such as the numbers 1,9,9,7 on the left and the character shima (island) in the bottom right.

If all you're really looking to do is learn how to decipher the most common characters rather than learn grammar etc then I would recommend a book like this one as it can make that process easier. Learning kanji can also help you to understand parts of Chinese writing as well.

Sorry, I don't understand the request, do you just need someone to read the titles for you?

And you're welcome about the book BTW. The author is a well respected Japanese language academic in England and some of her kanji memorisation methods are genius.

    No worries.

    1. Toruneko no daibouken
    2. Super Famicom Wars (su-pa-famiconwao-zu)
    3. Dokapon gaiden honoo no audition (dokapongaidenhonoonoo-deishon)

Number 2 is interesting as we were just recently discussing SNES games in the PlayStation CD add-on thread that incorrectly used hiragana instead of katakana for foreign loan words. The blue text actually says 'push start' in Japanese-ified English (pusshu suta-to) but they have used the font for native Japanese words instead for some reason.

    Thank you.

Yeh that's odd strangely I sort of recognised the "push start" text so must have seen something similar in another game.

I'm still waiting on the book so could someone let me know what this sticker translates as please.

What the whole pages or just parts of them? Parts of the text are a bit too small to read tbh especially on 20160525_111034.jpg.

Just the title of the magazine and any parts related to the CD if possible please. Do you need a closer image of those bits?

It would help if you can do that, sure.

The title of the magazine is Pokemon Scoop (pokemon suku-pu).

It would be good to be able to use that CD-ROM to the fullest. :D

    20160525_115051.jpg

Upon Pokemon love club registration, you will not be able to find more news or fun mini games. (This is an awkward sentence to translate but basically suggests that Pokemon love club registration is all you will ever need for this sort of thing).

Check the CD ROM completely and immediately.

*There is no annual registration fee for Pokemon love club membership.

I have only translated the text from the right side of the box underneath (and including) the stars and three hiragana characters that end with an exclamation point (bang) and not the map on the left or the text underneath it. I'm assuming that was all that was needed from this image?

Yes thank you :) As soon as I finish my exams next week I'm posting the disc and possibly other content I have lying around.
